Question about conversion

Im curious, would it be possible to convert this games code from gml or c++ (not sure which) to lua for love2d? (given effort is put in and some creative workarounds used where theres not a code equivalent for a function...)

the two reasons i ask is because apparently the code uses "too many obselete functions" to be moved to a newer version of gamemaker to port... And because if the code language can be converted (gml would be easier than c++) it'd make a mobile port possible...

The game is written in GML. I never used lua so I'm not sure how practical a conversion to it would be. It would definitely be easier to port MKF to modern gamemaker than any other engine though. That being said, we have no plans to port the game to another engine because of the large amount of time and effort it would take. Perhaps someone else will be up to the task once we release the source code after the game's completion, however.

Thank you for answering..

The people over at r/gamemaker said that moving mkf to gm studio isnt able to be done because of the use of too many "obselete functions" but you know better it seems...

Maybe you guys will figure out how to move it to gamemaker studio eventually and port it to android via gm studio?

If not, im sure once the source code is released someone could/would take up conversion to lua for Love2d and port it that way..

Thanks again, have a good day and keep up the good work :)
