Mods don't work

Recently I decided to try playing with mods. I went to Thunderstor.io, downloaded about 30 mods, downloaded Thunderstore according to this guide: https://votvmodding.github.io/docs/welcome and configured everything as needed. When I launched the game, I saw that none of the mods were working.

Now the question: what's the problem? Wrong version? Localization error? Maybe I didn't download something or did something wrong?

Please help me or suggest another way 馃槪

Do you get any errors when you launch the game?

No, they don't arise

You do realize that to mod a game, it needs to actually have support for the API you鈥檙e using, right? This isn鈥檛 Game Genie, here.

And what needs to be done to support this API? And by the way, this reminded me of installing mods on Subnautica with the Vortex client, everything was almost the same there and more successful.

My only ideas are as follows:

-Make sure the game directory is set in the settings.

-Make sure the mods you are using are up-to-date (at least within the last 2 months, I want to say.)

-Don't run too many at once.

-Make sure you launch the game modded through the R2  client, and you're not launching vanilla by mistake.

Thank you for your advice! I have now tried to run only one mod on the map, which was updated 2 months ago on version 0.8.0, but unfortunately nothing worked. I recently saw a video on YouTube where a person played votv with his friends, and noticed that he used the program not thunderstore, but r2modman, maybe I should try with it. I am very impatient to try these cool mods)

Ah. Yeah, I'm using the application R2, not the website. So, if that's not what you're doing, I'd suggest you start there.

I did it! And it turns out that the game folder needed to be at C:\Games\Voices of the void, but I just had it on my desktop. It was so stupid of me 馃お. It was just convenient for me to store all versions of the game starting from 0.6.0...

True, now when adding other mods I get "Error starting the game" or "Fatal error!" and I have to figure it out again. But at least there is progress !

Usually when that happened for me, either the directory wasn't set correctly, or the mods I was using weren't updated enough for the current version. Make sure your directory is set to the application of the game itself, and not just the folder it is in.
