Does any of my sensitive info get shared when uploading a game?!?!?!

Hello!

I want to share a game I'm working on but I'm confused about what will be shared if I share the file.

Does anything other than the file get shared? I don't want to share any sensitive info by mistake (e.g. file path, name of account on computer, etc.)

I'm very new to programming and I don't know much about computers other than the basics, so I apologise if this is a dumb question.

Any help is appreciated!

No, nothing other than the file gets shared. Otherwise sharing a game would be hell of a security problem. Itch.io doesn't store your PC info and it has no reason to. Hope that answers the question!

THANK YOU!!!

If you have this information coded into the project, yes, that will be shared. And if you share photos you made, they might even have gps location data inside.

It is not a dumb question. It is very much needed. Some devs share developer versions or mistakenly zip files into their project that are not part of the project.

So while Itch does not add to those informations, you might not know which information is inside your project to begin with.

This is very helpful. Thank You!
