How to keep the Italic format on the html player?

Hello,

how is it possible to maintain the italic format in the uploaded subtitles?

We have many lines in italic but we still did not manage to make it noticeable while watching the movie.

I looked at your .vtt file and couldn’t find any instance of the character < into it. How did you italicize the subs?

I did that by using <i> as described here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/WebVTT_API/Web_Video_Text_Tracks_Format#italics_tag_

[edited because itch.io does italic like that too, oops; fixed this message by using HTML entities https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Glossary/Entity, in case you need to write here something like <i>]

Thanks.
Somehow while saving the file from .srt to .vtt all italics have been cancelled.

Hello, One question here. How could we upload the file. Because as a group, we're checking the locjam page submission buut we can't see our project
