Hi! Thanks for your interest. Here's a general idea:

  • Type of Game: A short horror game with a Christmas theme. It could have a mix of cozy and eerie vibes, where the player experiences tasks like feeding stray cats, driving through a snowy area, or exploring a small, mysterious town. The goal is to balance heartwarming moments with some suspenseful or spooky elements.
  • Platform: Ideally for PC.
  • Complexity: Something simple and fun, maybe 15-20 minutes long. It doesn’t have to be super polished, just engaging and unique.

I won't be able to make something quite this polished (especially on short notice), but here's a screenshot from Stardew Valley:


I was thinking something that looks a bit like that, but with darker colors and darker themes.

I think that style will work perfectly. Since it might be tricky to include jump scares or a horror theme in that style, Itll be better if its just a Christmas-themed game with a cute and cozy atmosphere. We can still include some mysterious elements, but more in a puzzle way.

Also, could you let me know about the cost for a project like this?

I'd say my rate for something like this would be $175.

$175 total.

So kind of "in the middle range" as far as commissioning someone on here.

Your game would have to be made in 13 days, that's a lot to ask. Still not impossible to do. I'm willing to drop my other projects if you're willing to pay $100. That is enough for me to achieve my goal of buying a Mac mini. In return I can create your game, I have 3D experience and can create it on coppercube engine for a more traditional horror game. I know the best places for free music so copyright isn't gonna be a thing. If 2D then I can try my best, not the greatest drawings but might scare you. It won't be in RPG Maker (unless you ask for it), I know other engines for 2D and can create it in some form from it.

@karlalilian Would you like to make something together? 

All you really need is code gluing of main mechanics and assets assembly in game engine. All the rest can be done by you which would knock down price significantly. Im a programmer and game developer so i can help you with that if you want to help me with game design and picking of 3D assets and music.

I would avoid 2D as its not really immersive and considering your aiming at 15-20 its much easier to get it inside of the 3D world.

The only place where i would spend extra money would be paid 3D art (or 2D depends at what your aiming at)

but still there are plenty of free ones.
