Suggestion: Splatterhouse LCD Game

Not really sure how to format these, so here goes; this is one of the most obscure handhelds I've actually seen in person, though I do not own it. It's based on the 1988 Namco arcade game of the same name and from what I can gather, it came out around the same time; you control Rick as you battle through three floors of monsters on a single-screen playfield in an attempt to save his girlfriend Jennifer. I've always found this game really fascinating for being an obscure entry in an already pretty niche series, though this does come at the cost of rarity & obscurity.

Below are some videos & articles about the game if this interests you:

Thanks for your great suggestion! It would be cool to make it available on RetroFab.  And thanks for the link to the article which amazingly includes scans of the instructions -- something that is always difficult to find even for games not so rare as this one.

I've messaged the creator of the video  you included to see if he would be willing to provide a longplay video of the gameplay so I can recreate the graphics, audio and game logic. I'll let you know if I get a response.

I didn't get a response  from the creator of the Splatterhouse video, but I've put together an initial build for this game with the device, packaging and instructions which you can preview here. I've also listed it in the help wanted section on RetroLab hoping someone from the community might be able to help.

Awesome! Here's some other videos I've found showing this game off that might be of some help to you.

Thanks! These are great and possibly enough for a simulation. I'll see if I can get it done before I take a break for the holidays, otherwise I'll work on it when I'm back sometime in the new year. Thanks again for the videos and all the best for the new year!

Of course. I've got some other game suggestions I intend on posting later, and with those there's actual emulated versions on Internet Archive or other places, so part of the work would already be done for you, I imagine. Merry christmas & happy holidays in advance!
