First, let me explain the meaning of the title.

This is a post that attempts to translate the symbols within the game. 


And then, the most important point.... SPOILERS here, guys!


If you haven't already:

(If you know, theoretically, you can understand what I'm talking about)

I don't want to be too harsh.. But..

The following is the text:

Whew, it's finally time for the text.

In "Prove Your Worth" Room (Uh, let's call it that for now), we can find five coffins. (Or they just look like coffins....anyway...)

Of course, this post is not primarily to discuss the plot.

There is a board underneath these coffins with some strange symbols written on them.

Then, I think there is a high probability that these symbols represent something,

otherwise... Why did Japes go out of their way to show them to others..?


Here, I will use text symbols to show the symbols on these boards.

("#" indicates an empty space)

Ok, now we know the symbols....

Then we just need to know what they mean again so that we can try to understand the meaning of these symbols.
(wait....they have meaning, right?......right.........?...yes..............??)

But.... That's the problem... What do they represent?

There is an obvious answer that they represent the name of the "owner".
(Because it seemed like the ghosts and the Plushie knew the visitor's name)


Let's guess based on this hypothesis first, after all...
There doesn't seem to be any other choice....


So the symbol of Cammy stands for "Cammy".

Then, we need this symbol... Or, we should call it "text". We need to know the type of "text". (phonetic or ideogram)


What is phonetic?
Like English.

What is ideogram?
Like Chinese.


It is clear that these texts look more like "phonetic".

Now there is a possibility that-
A symbol represents a letter in English.


Such as:

Let's assume this is the case first.


Let's revisit our hypothetical premise:
>the symbols represent the name of the "owner" of the coffin.

Okay, so let's try to decipher now.


First of all, "Cammy" and "Japes" are the same length of letters,
but the length of the symbols is different.

So, maybe the size of these symbols is not the same.

And then.. We seem to be stuck here....
There is no exact letter size.... That's almost impossible to decipher.

But! As the saying goes.
"It WiLl LeT tHe DoOr DiSaPpEaR aT tHe TiMe Of ClOsInG tHe DoOr"


I mean... Very lucky!" "Cammy" and "Japes" have the same letter in them!

I'm not sure if this is deliberately designed...
But anyway, it's useful.

This means that theoretically, the second symbol for "Cammy" and "Japes" is also the same.

"MM" It is very likely to be

Could it be that there is a special way to write it??

Actually, there are some symbols that appear in "Temple".
But they are not discussed here because they are not currently recognizable (even a little).

Yeah, that checks out, especially if they are meant to be a jack of all trades to be a balance of sorts. If they were basically the Avatar, I doubt they’d be packed in a coffin as normal and not in their own special little place. Got any finds on the boss room’s symbols?

This reminded me...

Found some on the pillars in the center.

But.. Still the old question,
we don't know what these symbols represent.

However, a potentially useful finding is that:
The symbols on these pillars are not the same size as those on the coffins.
But the same size as on the torch of Temple.

This may mean that they are written in two different ways.
Or the symbol next to the coffin is "simplified".
Or, they are two fundamentally different symbolic systems.


So.. Maybe we can just have to wait patiently for new discoveries or new content.
