Android - Keyboard Issues

If the keyboard is hidden, there doesn't seem to be a way to reopen it.

Also, if the app loses focus, then even if they keyboard is open, it doesn't work.

Issue apparent on Nexus 5X.

Developer

Yes, I know, a lot of issues with keyboard on mobile devices.

I'm going to make TICs touch keyboard for mobile input.

Thanks.

If it could be of any support, I can report that the keyboard is working good on Win Mobile. (and probably this is the very first time an app is working better in Win Mobile than any other platform :)

Developer

still don't see full picture how TIC will work on mobile

have two variants, TIC looks like on PC but with custom touch keyboard and you can make a game even on tablet/phone or just like an app to open .tic files and play them with virtual gamepad (not sure that anyone would want to have coding on touch device).

Is there a way currently to enter UI Mode on Android with the standard keyboard? (No ESC key).

Developer

You can use BACK button when keyboard is hidden. I know it doesn't work properly and I'm going to create TIC's own keyboard to input on mobile devices.

No worries :). Thank you for all your hard work. Can't wait to see it in full swing.

any updates on this? I've just tried TIC-80 on Android and external keyboards stop working after switching apps or using the RUN command.

Developer

not yet, here is an issue https://github.com/nesbox/tic.computer/issues/60
