How Do You Message People?

Hey there. I know this is a really stupid question and the answer is probably staring me right in the face, but how do you message people on Itch? I've tried viewing the community profile and other profile of certain people, but I don't see options to send PMs or anything anywhere.

I'll delete the topic once it's answered, since compared to a lot of the more serious questions here this one seems to be based around my own stupidity.

Why would you delete the topic? The question makes perfect sense. It just so happens that the reason why you can't find the private messaging system is that we don't have one yet. In fact, people ask for it with regularity. And if I understand correctly, it is on the roadmap, for exactly that reason. Should actually happen sooner or later.

I just thought I'd delete it because it sounded like a stupid question in my head, but if it's a common question I'll just leave it up.

Thanks for the quick reply though. It's a shame it isn't implemented yet, but ah well. I'll just have to try and get the person's attention by commenting on one of their games or forum posts.

that's why I leave my email on my creator's profile! incase anyone wants to collaborate or contact. more people should do the same until the PM system is implemented

soooooo there really isnt any way of contacting someone other than just on a game or though some other means? you cant just "send message" to a user....? ok.... :/

Any news on the msg system?

This thread has been opened 2 years ago... still no news on a private message system? How come?

It's unlikely we'll be adding private messaging in the near future. If we did it add it, it would be specific to chatting with your friends through our app when playing games.

Private message systems are grounds for unsolicited harassment, spam, and have other privacy and safety considerations. We feel that there are plenty of messaging tools that developers already use that help them manage issues like that.

If a developer or member of the community wants to be able to be contacted privately then they will make their contact information available on their page. Otherwise, you can publicly communicate with them on project comments and message boards.

Thanks

Appreciate the details, I get what your saying about unsolicited msgs, there's a lot of that I see in other platforms, Thanks
