Hello, loving the game so far! But I've got some things to say...
Question:
How do I download the update without losing my progress? Do I just download the new version and replace the old?
Bugs: (apologies if you're already aware of some of these)
-Whenever it's raining and I first walk outside, the rain animation only lasts for a second then stops and I can only hear it. Idk much about game development but it's as if only the rain that was initially on screen was loaded and after that it couldn't load anymore.
-The hit box for chopping trees is kinda wonky. If I'm coming at it from the side, it seems I need to be higher up on the block to actually be able to chop it. Front and back seem ok.
-Hit box for foraging plants seems pretty broken tbh, I have to kinda run around it and spam click to get it. If the item was hard and i could walk into it before collecting would feel much better (hope that makes sense)
Thoughts:
-I may just be used to Stardew, but I don't like how you have to be facing the tile you want to till / dig / plant a seed in, I think clicking an adjacent tile no matter which way you're initially facing would be much more efficient / comfortable. I don't wanna tell you how your game should work and idk how hard that would be to implement, just offering a suggestion. I do like the current system for chopping and mining however, having a hard surface to walk into before making the action without actually having to click on it feels good (i suppose having the option to click it if you wanted couldn't hurt tho).
-Being able to split stacks in chests would be a welcome addition
-I'd like to be able to fill in holes so my garden looks pretty!
-Maybe being able to zoom in on the map? It's beautiful and I'd like to see areas up close.
-This is very picky but adding a thud sfx when the tree hits the ground would be very satisfying
(now some positives so I don't sound down on the game haha)
-Love the interface, menus are very pleasing
-Music / ambiance is very soothing
-Love the catalog ordering system, it's more realistic than crafting and waiting a day for an item makes me appreciate it more.
-I like that i can retrieve all items from the bin before they're sold, unlike stardew haha
I think that's about it, I hope nothing sounded too bitchy haha I think Verdant Valley has a lot of potential and I'd love to see it grow into something great, best of luck!
