I was a little confused at first until I realized you keep point between game overs. I think that mechanic could be turned into a really fun game, where you're constantly trying to get farther and making little incremental upgrades. With a system like the one you created, you'd probably want to reward players for playing well in addition to the skills they acquire. So players still have to perform well, but they get a little help each run by buying upgrades.

I think if I figured it out correctly you're supposed to always die pretty soon, then you press C to get the upgrades when you get points. You get points by jumping over the stones that sometimes appear. Might that be correct?
(I didn't look at the comments, by the way, before playing or writing this)
I thought it was actually pretty fun and a really good starting concept, very nice job!
Interesting but a tutorial would have helped a lot, maybe just some text on the itch page just to let players know what's about to happen in case someone gets confused. Nice work anyway and keep it going!
Right I needed to work on the basics to understand what's happening but ran out of time so I could get the main upgrades in.... Will work on further! (To Do: Make tutorial!)
Hope my feedback was a good one :))) Would you like to give me one too?
seems interesting, but i cant really figure out whats going on, are you supposed to run out of air right away? or can you keep going somehow.
So you build up and just keep gaining points. I plan to have a "distance" tracked and set that up to some magic equation to give a score and possibly a leaderboard for funsies and such. but the point is the points
My poor guy drowning on loop, just so I can get him to inch forward in his next life lol
Well done!
He doth not drown, simply wakes up from a dream into another one, right before he would....wait, what? I don't know man. Maybe I should add some plot so it doesn't seem like a torture machine. In early development I would launch it, and at that time, air would run out or you would hit a rock and you would get a point and it would reset.... I hit 10K multiple days in a row (I had school and would reset it everyday before I left so...) I'm just saying he has "woken up" a lot of times already. Eh, I'm sure he's fine... 😅
The game concept is so creative and fun!!
I plan to add bigger and potentially more intense obstacles. More upgrades. More player features. some easy things to add would cut the 999 air time upgrade into chunks of like 33 and have an upgrade to allow further upgrades. You know more things for longer game, filler stuff. I want to add enemies such as fish and crabs and sharks. I want to go through and rework all the art. And so much more. I actually have a thought chain I can build off of and I'm so thankful of this Jam for the theme. Sometimes just a push, in one direction can set, the whole path.
Also I left a comment about your game it was very intriguing slightly aggravating but overall fun. Very almost skill heavy, no? Maybe I should work on my gaming skills than hey?
The game idea is kinda nice, could,t figure out how to get points properly, you should prb add sounds too, anw Check my game out when you can :)
Right, and right. I plan on adding a "turtoriale" (Turtle tutorial) explaining all of the games play concept. That and sounds became something of a wish with my time management due to school and work. thanks for the feedback I will be sure to play your game and return the favor. :)
