Very nice game! Congrats!
Thanks for the comment.
Really creative idea, at first I forgot I could release and I was trying them all in one go! That would have been impossible haha. Really liked the levels with the moving pieces, added a lot of challenge! Good work!
Thank you! Nice to hear that the moving parts were enjoyed. I originally planned also many other types of special obstacles that could be introduced as the game progresses, but in the end I didn't have time for any others.
Congrats on the submission! Pretty challenging game.
Thanks!
Would you say it was too difficult or interestingly challenging?
Me and a friend played this and it was actually a good time. We tried to beat the levels with only one line and that made it tense and more fun than using multiple lines. It was fun looking at the line and seeing how close we had come at some points.
Wow. Congratulations if you managed to do that in the later levels!
Thank you for the feedback. Glad you had fun with my game.
Interesting concept, very well executed. I didn't care for the game play but I don't have very steady hands. If only?!!! Could have been a surgeon. LOL Good job though with the game. I can recognize good work even if it isn't my cup of tea.
Thank you very much for the feedback!
Really great concept! Only thing that I would change is that you can always check how things are going. I tried the first levels in one go but with harder levels I just made mini steps to see where I am going. Maybe make a maximum of "cheat views" the player can use. Otherwise, great game!!
Thanks for the comment!
Maybe I should reconsider setting a specific maximum number of tries per level. You are already second person to suggest this.
Very nice, it lacks a little polishing. But the concept is cool. I think exceeding the target number of line should be a gameover. Otherwise it’s not challenging enough (this is only my point of view though).
Thanks for your comment!
As a reply to your suggestion, here's what I thought myself when making the decision to allow infinite retries. In my mind the target number is something that sets some expectations for the player, but in the end I did not want to make them start over the game because of using too many lines on one level. After completing the game the player can try again to improve their total score and try to solve the levels with fewer lines than last time. The challenge in the game comes from the players own ambitions and expectations they set for themselves. Of course, one could solve all levels by just taking minimal steps at a time until at goal, but I think no one would actually want to do that (unless they have been stuck for a same level really long time). After all, what's the point of playing a game if one does not want to do their best. Also, this is something that is connected to the Courage theme of another Jam this game was submitted for. The target numbers sets some expectations to the player but still in the end the player themselves are responsible for making the decision how big risks they want to take. If the limit was absolute, with one attempt left, it would not leave the player no choice but to try to solve the whole level with one line. In my own personal opinion, this is not as interesting as to force the player to make the optimization decisions themselves.
great game, has a very familiar feel to it. ^,..,^
if possible you should make it so the mouse wont leave game screen.
would be nice to have some sounds, like drawing on a blackboard.
(Agree with the “make it so the mouse wont leave game screen”)
Thanks! These are really good suggestions.
Mouse problem was something I noticed myself and I was going to fix it, but in the end I did not have enough time. As a quick fix, I changed the mouse cursor visible, which was something that was also asked. That maybe should help a little.
I added some sounds to the game in the update, but did not have much time to work with them either, so they are quite simple. If I'm going to make updates to the game later, I'll definitely add the blackboard sounds!
