I really like the game loop and the way it's portrayed with the game-board! I was overwhelmed and confused at first, but I kind of like learning that way anyways. The music and art are unfairly good, great job.

Developer

Cheers! I probably should've added a little popup hint after clicking play, but oh well :)

The music and artwork were all done last day, so I'm glad someone appreciates them!

Very fun and cool, nice crisp sound effects and solid gameplay. Simple, always get the spiked armor in my humble opinion. While the lighting/glow effect is cool, I don't think it is appropriate for a 1-Bit game jam and goes beyond transparency effects.

Developer

Appreciate it, post processing is allowed in the rules though! :)

Really fun game, looks like we both went for games with perks!

One thing nobody adressed in here though... The game is super fun, I'll give you that, but..

What about the restrictions of the jam? I can't really give you points for theme just because you put a snow effect in your game when it's the only winter thing... And it's not really 2 bit either, there are so many different skins and colors in the game, you could say that there's only 2 used with each skin but that's also incorrect as the skin isn't applied on the tooltip when hovering over items (it's still black and white).

Very fun concept though! Seems quite similar to mine :)

hmm, I didn’t notice this tooltip issue. Must be related to the web export, damn it…

Originally there was a food and warmth system, but I couldn’t get around to implementing them in an interesting way that didn’t feel intrusive, so ultimately had to cut i!

Fun loop hero type game. I played way longer than I expected to haha.

Developer

Glad you liked it, and I'm happy I wasted some of yours ;D

I don't know what to do

Developer

Watch as your hero plays the game for you! You just need to choose upgrades :)

It took me a while to understand how the game works, it is a bit disorienting at first, when you understand the mechanism instead it becomes very fun. One of my favorites of this jam!

Developer(+1)

Appreciate it! I agree that if you haven't encountered this kind of game before, the XP bar in the bottom left increasing slightly (easy to miss) is not a good indicator of anything!

Wow, this is so cool! This game is so good in every way that I played several rounds without realizing it. It is a very relaxing and fun game:)

Developer

Apprecite it! :)

My god man, in all my time of play testing I did not once have the patience to get past day 20, what the hell is the player doing out of the arena ;D

I suppose I didn't balance scholars sword very well, every day the enemies get around 6 max health, but there is 7-10 enemies per day, and therefore you will always outscale the enemy health with your damage... Thanks for finding this, and glad you enjoyed :)

The animation had a bad reset position, the player shifted a couple of pixels every day till he was gone xd

The game is awesome, I have more to play but for now this is my fav

Developer

Ah that makes sense. Looking at the code now it seems like it's to do with one of the tweeners getting cancelled. Anyway. appreciate your comment! If you like this style of game, it was heavily inspired by "Loop Hero", so you will probably enjoy that (a lot more) as well :D

Yeah I know, that game took so many hours from me hahahaha

Im familiar with it
