It got a bit sweaty near the end of the countdown, fun challenge! It makes a great “I know the keys without looking at them” exercise. Love the minimalist style and font chosen. Nice work.
Good stuff! I like how this game could actually teach someone how to type, while still being very fun. I did notice that sometimes when you are surrounded by two of the same letter it is difficult to know where you will end up, so it would be nice if something was done to make it so that two of the same letters are never at a distance of 2 from each other.
Super enjoyed this game! I think it would also work as a full game with extra puzzle mechanics.
I wrote out a long comment a couple of days ago and I see now it didn't get posted but the base of it was similar to xeno's comment. I agree that it could easily be a 20 second game. It's OK for a game to be hard as long as it's rewarding when you don't reach the end. It can be good to give you room for improvement. My thought was that you could zone the letters with four to six different background colours. People who type fast can aim to finish. People who type more slowly can aim to get to the second zone and from there try to push themselves to reach the next. (Just a top of the head thought).
Repeated letters: my first thought about this was that it should be possible to eliminate them from the grid so the player doesn't fall victim to an unfair grid (I got into a situation where I was surrounded on all playable sides by the same letter). My second thought was that it adds a puzzle dimension to the game that you could exploit to make the gameplay more challenging. Maybe a hard mode where you ensure that repeated letters _do_ happen (but that there is still a way to get around them). Could be fun for a future iteration.
Interesting concept for a game! As mentioned, it might actually benefit from a smaller size and 20 second time limit which would bring it more inline with the jam theme.
Btw I encountered a situation where the same letter was adjacent in two positions and couldn’t get to the one I wanted
Nice idea for a game. If you made the game board a bit smaller, you could make this fit with the 20s theme. You could even introduce difficulty levels because I’m sure that some people with their brain switched on (i.e. not me :p) could finish a bigger board.

Neat concept! Could easily be a puzzle mini-game for a mystery/spy/hacker game. It's fun!

There's a priority: right, down, left, up.
The "type-to-navigate" concept for this game is very elegant and inspiring. Thank you for making it!

My son did beat it in 19 seconds (current size), so technically I might just shorten the clock and make it a very hard 20 seconds game.
As for same letters in different sides it prioritizes right, down, left, up which is preferable most of the time (except in the middle).
