Cool twist on a classic game! Clean and simple UI to boot. Unfortunately I don't have much input on this game since I'm not the biggest fan of Sudoku :( but like I said it's cool to see this derivative of it that works well with the jam prompt, nice job!

We'd like to see some difficulty options, so that it won't give obvious ones, those with a number in the same column, row, or block as itself. Sudoku is a fun game and adding in the aspect of having to find the incorrect number was an interesting challenge. I'd also like if there was a way to turn off it displaying if your input was right or wrong in a box, i.e. not making the box red.

Good to know my plans are what people actually want! In my first devlog (not that I'd expect you to read it before giving feedback, this is a game jam lol) I talked about what I wanna implement after the rating period is over and two things in my roadmap are difficulty options and the ability to turn off the wrong input hint lol. For now since I didn't really have enough time to implement options, I went with the box turning red because otherwise it was reeally hard unless you got them right next to each other 😅 like I couldn't solve it at all, but I'm sure there are people who could do it and would like the challenge so I do want to give the ability to turn that off eventually

Unfortunately, I don't understand how to play it

Disclaimer: I am terrible at sudoku and don't play it much BUT this game is a very cool concept. It's immediately easy to understand what you're supposed to be doing as the player, and the full interactivity with the board is nice, it lets you look at the puzzle any way you want. I never won, but I did get a really lucky board where two 3s were right next to each other, got excited, and immediately lost the coin flip and submitted the wrong 3 as the fake clue.

I absolutely love this game, it's a great brain teaser type game. I'm really impressed that there seems to either be a massive collection of puzzles or a random generation of puzzles, I know making a valid sudoku board is difficult, and adding in the complexity of one tile being wrong is very impressive that you were able to get it working. I think the main suggestion I'd give would to make it so that the space key can switch between pen/note modes, so that players can exclusively use the keyboard for the whole game and not have to swap between the two settings with the mouse since you then have to click back into the board to continue.

Thanks! I'll admit I was using a package to generate the sudoku and only then added the incorrect clue

As far as the keys, I a) forgot to put in the description that you can use P to switch to pen and N to switch to notes! and b) tried, but wasn't able to get the selected box to refocus after clicking one of the inputs below. B is something I intend to work on after the jam, and I can probably edit the description right now so thanks for letting me know!

The UI here is simple, yet very clean. I love this concept! It's very original. It seems like a game that would be found on an actual brain teaser site or something. I do want to let you know in case you didn't think about it, by the way: Once you fill in a box with a number, you can change it to other numbers but can't clear it again. Anyways—great game! Good scope, clean execution.

Thank you!

That bug is interesting... I thought maybe it was something I accidentally broke along the way, but I tried both backspace and delete and they removed the number for me. I'm realizing I should have made a way to clear it for mobile devices, and this comment made me aware that I needed to put those in the controls in the description! Were those keys not working for you, or was it just my neglecting to mention them in the controls section? (so I know if there's something else I'll need to fix later)

Oh, interesting! I think they keys weren't working for me. I just went back and tested it again and it worked fine. I'm not sure what's different. It was really late so it might have been my fault lol
