I can't open the template

What it says in the title. I've started trying to copy the layout by myself but I'm struggling with the font size, so if anyone could give me the specifics, that would be much appreciated. (If you give more info like leading, tracking and such I'll be forever grateful).

Cheers!

Hi! Could you let us know exactly which template you're trying to use? There's an Affinity Designer one, a Photoshop one, and templates for Google Docs and Google Slides. With that info I'm sure Jason will be able to help you out!

I was trying to open the InDesign template. I'll try to use those for Google Docs, it might be simpler. Thanks :)

What version of InDesign are you using?

15 something, I'm not sure, but I'm using the Google Docs template it's much simpler :)

Ah the template was made in 2018 so maybe that's the issue? Glad you got something to work with though; the ID template is based off the Google Docs one so it'll be similar anyway.

I've never used the InDesign template — that was created by James of Unknown Dungeon, or @unknwn_dngn on Twitter, so he might be a better person to ask. I can tell you about specifics I used in Affinity Publisher, though! (But just a heads up: I am keenly, awkwardly aware that the text is pretty small and tight in the originals, so if you have the space to go a little bigger, that might be welcome.)

DOCUMENT

  • .25 inch margins
  • .25 inch between text columns

BODY

  • FONT Roboto Condensed 9pt
  • LEADING 12pt
  • SPACING 6pt following each paragraph, on a 6pt baseline grid (this is kind of a goofy way to do it, but I am trying to be economical with space)
  • TRACKING 0
  • AUTO-HYPHENATION on in most places

HEADINGS

  • FONT D-DIN Condensed-Bold 36pt
  • LEADING/SPACING are kind of irrelevant because I put the headings in separate text frames, flush with top margin, with the first line of body text sharing its baseline with the 1 inch mark

Hope that helps!

Yes this all I could hope for, thanks a lot :)
