The intro cutscene blew me away, especially since the music has a John Carpenter feel to it. The setting and use of theme are spot on too. I especially like all the documents you can find, each one of them was an interesting read and made it worth the danger of finding them. As others have said the game seems overly punishing, currently, Maybe if you increased the visibility in the fog slightly, just so much that you can see shadows moving but still need to use the lamp.

I would love to see further into the game, I'm really interested in knowing the how the story plays out, it's just too hard for me to complete at the moment.

Okay, so I'd say you nailed the Lovecraftian theme and the ambience. Good location - some dark abandoned ship, frozen in place. Music and sound were good too. Intro video? Nice! (I see what you did there). Gameplay lost it for me the most. Unfortunately, a game breaking bug at a very strange creature prevented me from going further, and when I went on to play again, catching up to the same point was too frustrating for me to continue.

Even without the game breaking bug, the frustrating gameplay made me quit. Getting caught by cultists often felt cheap and unavoidable. Walking into a room at the wrong time was just instant death. Even when I knew exactly where to go, getting caught by an unseen wandering cultist was it for me. If I could play God mode and see what is in store story-wise, I'd love to, but trudging through insta-death cultists is too much for me.

Just when I thought I got all the bugs! I think the sound emittance plugin is the culprit.

I also agree gameplay is punishing-- perhaps in the future, cultists could emit a slight light radius? Maybe the retention of enemy map position is a bit much? It was a real crunch for our 10 day deadline, and levels were basically thrown together in one night.

Even despite all this, if you save at every checkpoint and utilize stealth mode, our game can be completed consistently in under 10 minutes.

Thanks for checking it out, and I'm glad you enjoyed the beginning!

Ok I’ll probably go back and go for it, perhaps post jam. I am quite curious what you came up with.

EDIT: The crashes are fixed! This should be a smooth experience!

Hello Deficiency! I believe you are allowed to make fix patches before submission period closes! It was the same on Studio Blue's jam! :O Oh dear! I hope you can read this sooner. xD You still have about  3 hrs+ left as of me writing this! :)

Right on! I actually just got word from the people of the other jam that its ok with them as well! Thanks for the tip!

Tried it until I couldn't go further anymore haha! >.< I'm such a newb when it comes to stealth gaming, so I failed quite a lot, and am having a hard time continuing! Tho I'm sure anyone else playing who can easily maneuver through the stealth mechanics won't have much of a hard time as I did. xD

With what I've played so far!  I love the voice acting! The intro added with the movie was such a cool touch! The atmosphere is so creepy and being in an abandoned ship just helps add to that! I always enjoy stories about cults involved in Cosmic Horror, as I know some eerie otherwordly stuff are probably involved beneath it all. Despite me failing a lot with the stealth, the stealth mechanic was designed very well, allowing you to use the lantern as a distraction, and allowing you to hide in lockers while being chased. Not to mention the graphics overall is just amazing! They have that realistic feel to them that fits the dark and gritty atmosphere the game was going for! :D Kudos to the dev! I'm just excited to watch Hawk stream it so I can see it ti'll the end. <3

Wow! Thanks for the thoughtful response, Starmage! The game can definitely be challenging, but I'm glad you enjoyed what you played. I'll give your project a shot too!
