Ha, I hadn't conceptualized it as giving commands to another character. That's interesting, could go into programming game territory somewhat. Thanks for playing!
Really cool game! Such an unconventional idea but its executed quite well. The sounds/music are nice, artstyle is good. Having shorter commands for turning would be good, like "turn left" for a 90 degree turn, and maybe "turn half left" for 45. Another thing is in tense situations I kept typing the commands in the wrong order, like "turn left 90 degrees" so it may be nice to accept out of order inputs. Overall I really like this!
Thanks! I actually did have a short 90 degree command but it was too good, I wouldn't use anything else, so I took it out and leaned into the obtuseness. Good point about the out of order, syntactically commands. I hadn't even considered that!
I agree with Bamimoth, the idea might sound ludicrous, but the input hurdle actually makes it pretty tense. The most frustrating thing is the turning, but I think this is mainly due to having to type such a long command. I think if this was playing in a grid-like world where you can only turn 90 degrees (or maybe even a hex-world?), it may become easier to maneuver. There is definitely something here :)
Thanks! I had a 90 degree turn command that was too useful so I took it out. Now that you mention hexes, though, I hadn't considered that turns could be made in, say, 30 degree increments.
While the idea is (as you mention) very silly, I really enjoyed playing this game. It's so tense when you try to turn just the right amount to shoot multiple enemies and struggle to type the command in time. Over time, I did get better at estimating the angles, though

This has so much potential. I love the idea of trying to help another character by guiding them with an input.

Love the typing mechanic. Had a lot of fun turning and trying to figure out where to move while also trying to type it fast enough.
Thanks for taking a look! Glad the gameplay worked for you. I knew it was funny, but didn't expect people to actually find it fun.

10/10 cool game
Ha, thanks, appreciate it!

Happy to hear it worked for you! Although it's mainly a joke game, I agree, it can be pretty intense or satisfying at times.
