Theme

Yes

This game follows the theme "Escaping fate".

Message from the creator(s):
Implemented through the countdown timer in each level. The idea started as "I don't have enough time for [insert a deadline related thing]" and then I realized that we're essentially fated to inevitably run out time. Just as like a general sense. Real deep and philosophical I know.

So then I was like "Why don't I add a timer to the game." That way, by completing the level before the timer runs out, you're essentially escaping your "fate of running out of time". Also once I saw the irony of adding the timer given the game mechanics I thought it was even better.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking, It definitely sounded cooler in the planning phase then it does right now.

You would be completely right.

Original Art

Yes

Created the vast majority of the art during the jam.

Original Audio

No

Didn't create the vast majority of the audio during the jam.

Great platformer! Maybe I didn't complete that one level most didn't complete, but I enjoyed the platforming and the way you handled your mechanics. It was a good experience.

The game feels really neat to control and i think the idea behind it is good!

Its a shame i was stuck on a level (Same one as Chipi from the comments)
I think you should add a walkthrough to your jam page, should help those who get stuck!

Developer(+1)

I think that's a good idea, I'll add a link to like a walkthrough for the last level since it seems like that ones the biggest issue

I loved the concept and the mechanic as well the music but why is this level son hard. I want to play more but it seems imposible

Submitted(+2)

I'm also struggling to get past that level, but I was enjoying the level design  quite a lot up until that point

Developer

Yeah, this ended up being one of those "Oh god I have X hours left till the deadline", "Yeah, this'll be a great and fun idea" kinda levels. Sorry about that.

Developer

Oh right just for future reference, which part of the level made it seem impossible? Just wanted to know so I can be more careful about that stuff in the future.

don't worry about it, it happens to all of us hahaha. I couldn't make it to throw the card to the wheel, it always would be stopped by an obstacle, that's where I got stuck

I really enjoyed the character and the theme.

nice game! I really liked the idea

also you could make the executable in the zip form so it's easier to download

Developer(+1)

Sure, could you elaborate further what you mean? Like, you want me to put the .exe in a zip file first?

(1 edit) (+1)

like,  you're using game maker right? There's 2 options when you click it, you packed it as installer, but for smaller games i think zip is better since it's easier to install

Developer(+1)

Oh right, I've been doing it as a .exe for so long I actually forgot that as an option. Thanks a bunch!

Developer

Ok update on that, I can't add the zip file option until the jam is over
