I started playing adventure games a bit after the text parser era, so I had no nostalgia bias, and this still drew me in immediately. Great atmosphere and really charming, witty style of writing. Super fun, loved it!
(sorry for the triple post, no idea how that happened)
I enjoyed this! I hadn’t played a text parser game for many years, and I like how it makes you think rather than just clicking on stuff and being told what happens. Puzzles were fair (a modern twist!) and I like the little jokes when you do stuff wrong.
Boy, I miss boomboxes with decent tape decks ...
This is the crispest 320x200 resolution I've seen in a long time.
I was immediately sold on your game when I saw the cover. An oldschool parser? Without dead ends and silly, unpredictable deaths every five seconds? Yes please!
You really nailed the feel of the old Sierra games. It looks awesome. The puzzles weren't outlandish, but they weren't too easy either. I never got stuck, so the game had a really nice flow for me. And I liked the slightly unsettling tone of the story.
Very entertaining game. I'll definitely check out your other projects once the jam is over.
Some of the puzzles were a bit difficult to figure out, a dictionary or at least a simplified one could be useful. That was the only bad thing about the game. Writing was surreal, visuals were amazing, and it seemed to be well polished.
