First-Timer Question

I am thinking about joining this jam and creating a point-and-click. I have to ask: what are the specifics when it comes to this rule:

"Constructing the game itself is not allowed until the beginning of the jam date. However, you are allowed to assemble your team (if you choose to have one), write your story/dialogue, and make a list of your game's needs and share it with your team."

Since I am building this from scratch, do I need to wait until the jam starts before building the point-and-click framework/functionality? Or could I get started on that, but not build the actual game levels, scenes, puzzles, etc. until after the jam has started?

The latter - if you steer clear of making project-specific stuff intended to be used in the game, that'll keep you within the spirit of the jam and that rule. Hope that helps!

So framework/foundation is okay. Game specific puzzles, levels, etc. after Jam starts. If that's the case, then I got it. Thanks for clarifying!
