Played this longer than I thought I would when I picked it up late at night ^_^ felt the atmosphere immediately, very spooky. Had a twinge in the back of my neck I haven't had since playing Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion so a bit nostalgic.
Died on my first run to the first boss, cheeky bastard... got to 19 on my second. Took me til about floor 10 for things to click and to understand the timing of enemy attacks for the most part.
Some minor nitpicks:
Bosses are kinda awkward to fight with their size, felt like I had to stand inside one to hit it with melee. Might've been a broken weapon, but I don't think it was (can't honestly remember, I started fighting them with ranged weapons after).
Stepping on the last little chunk of gore for cannibalism can be a little awkward
Im not sure what the slime powerup actually did, although I didn't stare at my slime to figure it out (i assume he attacks)
I feel like the wooden buckets should float in the water level :3
a hotkey for moving something to the crafting slot might be nice if there isn't one (didn't check, sorry)
Didn't see anything I'd call a bug though.
I like the UI.
Very fun, would've played more but need to sleep. Best of luck to ya!
Glad you liked it! The timing of enemy attacks will become much easier to judge once i implement real animations.
Bosses' sizes are actually relevant to melee combat, as is the arena's size for ranged, but that's what high-range weapons like spears, harberds and quarterstaves are for!
Cannibalism's bites are chance-based, so all you have to do is stand somewhat close to the gib.
Slime-friend follows you around (as best he can), and attacks enemies with an acid touch. He's quite powerful if you can lead him around.
Good suggestion, noted.
There is, I just didn't say it anywhere. It's the middle mouse button.
All status ailments last the same, except when you take Body and Mind Ailment resistance into account. A low INT character will be much more susceptible to Mind ailments, like Panic.
In any case, stopping or avoiding spells, and carrying potions to cure ailments, is an essential part of the strategy. There's many more ways to die other than just straight damage!
Love the gameplay, aesthetics and atmosphere. The difficulty feels great, as does the combat. I got filtered early on but I'm gonna give it another whirl later tonight.
To combine items, just drag one item to the Combine slot, then drag another. Experiment around until you find some combinations that work. Try combining trash items from crates and potions.

Thanks for the review!
Panic seems to last forever, until you use an item to cure it or get killed
Too OP

I guess being a brainlet berserker has its downsides

Glad you liked it! Pay attention to the tip notes on the floor as their hints are actually valuable.
Thanks for playing!

Good luck
, amigo!Had a great fun time, surprisingly it worked well with a gamepad, though I died to the cold witch, 'cause couldn't aim her properly quick enough
Nice progress, and I'm glad you had fun! I play it mostly on gamepad to preserve my little frail hands for more devving.
