Looks like keyboard input was not working, the player should move around with WASD or clicking on the screen. Also did you have a controller plugged in but weren't using it?
no, the controller was not plugged in. clicking on screen also didn't seem to work, so I guess all input just did not work through Wine. Don't worry about it, I said that to multiple devs in the past, concentrate on your targeted os first.
Since I am also making a somewhat-pokemon game, some comments on your take of Pallet Town~
Funny Stuff
Always Reject Unsolicited Calls - If you keep rejecting the call from Seed the game goes into an endless loop of you rejecting calls
Bugs
If you go into the Kusomon panel immediately after Seed's call, you are stuck because you have no shitmons. Make a switch here to have Seed say "This isn't time." and turn it off after you get your first mon. You also get stuck on the tutorial battle if you click mons because of the same reason.
Flavor
Should the types really be displayed? - It's kinda intimidating to think about pokemon types as your first mon, it might be better display the main type and let player discover the surprise. (perhaps that's why they don't display types at all in the mainline games)

For smoother gameplay: Menu screen should close after clicking save

If you pick grass you are severely weak to bug type, the old man immediately after tutorial just NTRs you. I couldn't get past this part, sorry! Monk also crashes game infrequently, unsure how to reproduce.

this game is awesome i love it keep up the good work
Some feedback:
* I get a lot of "No translation for x" messages for names / skills / etc
* 'J' key as the A key is weird. Since WASD is used for movement I would suggest using another key close to that ones as the accept / cancel one
* After using 'fly' a couple of times the game gets stuck (can't move nor open menu but animations like sea tiles keep playing).
* The character portrait and the sprite are nothing alike (probably a WIP but if not it does break the experience)

I recorded playing games with commentary, and your game is one of the games I wanted to try out.
Unfortunately playing it through Wine on linux did not go well.
