Good early concept game. Enemies were extremely punishing. I beat it on hard mode but it was very frustrating. I think the enemies need better projectile indication or something. Once you mess up even a little you are likely dead. The sound effects and soundtrack were really good.
Really cool game. Love the graphics, the way the levels are strung together, the gunplay and movement. The enemies kill you too fast. Playing in non-easy mode they can wipe out like 90 health. A lot of their projectiles are too fast and unseen enemies will just snipe you. Since projectiles are also blue they blend in to the background too much. I reckon if they were orange they'd look cool. I'd recommend more enemy bullets that can be seen and dodged and do a lot less damage. Also add in some visual indicator that you've taken damage. Can't wait to see more guns, enemy types and hopefully more movement mechanics.
Lots of fun despite the pretty simple gameplay, i think the way the game feels is great. I would suggest doing what you can to distinguish interactables/attacks visually from the background, as it can be a little hard to spot enemy projectiles. Id also suggest maybe an edge detect shader to help highlight corners and geometry in dark places where everything is the same color.
I like your style, the color palette, the sound design, the music, the enemies. This is good stuff. The burst-firing gun seems like it'd make more sense for a mech whereas it seems you're playing a regular dude? It is fun lining up the shots to make sure you hit a row of the enemies all at once.
Really needs a sound cue and/or something on the crosshair to show when the gun is ready or loading, it's very awkward having to look down in the corner. Maybe a click or something when it refuses to fire too. Perhaps another pickup could be an instant reload?
I really don't like the overuse of Painkiller-style arena lock-ins. But at least the arenas here are a little more open and it's a good touch to make you walk through it before you push the button to spawn everything. The railguns hits from the really big mechs are annoying, you just have to pop out to hit them, I don't know if they had a tell or anything. The other enemies by comparison are pretty easy to deal with.
I want to add some mech enemies to my game as well, this has given me a few ideas.

Cool game. I lol'd at the capsule player shadow.
