Hello fellow *cove*-developer. This game was quite fun to me. The physics are rough but quite enjoyable already. It’s a good prototype that would be fun to see expanded with more features, like in the form of different stages that come with different special aspects. Notes:

  • I wasn’t sure if different colours behaved differently on the fishing line, sometimes it felt like that, but not clearly
  • Huge fish take a long time to pull in, they seem to only be worth it when caught close to the surface. Also just sitting there holding W for 30 seconds is not an exciting experience
  • Line goes down much faster if a fish is attached to it, that’s a neat little trick but releasing fish with R is a bit annoying to execute as line will often reattach immediately

Fun little game, neat aesthetic.

  • Niqle’s slotting fish idea is sweet
  • Any plans to add more to the game? Could add powerups (fish magnet, faster/slower fish, multiple lines) or score reducers (picking up junk or something)

Cute game, I liked the variety of bizarre fish shapes, they're fun to look at. Was kinda expecting them to piece together at first lol, something like this.

Cute graphics and sound. I like the concept. The fishing line is very very glitchy. Would be nice if there was some kind of gameplay for reeling the fish in, instead of just holding a button and waiting.

Thanks for playing, there is a mechanic to catch fish faster than just reeling in. When you 'play the line' by releasing the distance you exhaust the fish a bit, and you can pull them in faster.
