This time I played the hard mode and beat the game with this record, I felt the controls more responsive than previous DD. I'm not sure if you changed something or my mind simply adapted to the controls.  I notice something the levels where mirrored, confusing at first but my mind rapidly adapted to those.

I liked the costumes, the sexy pics pics between each level aaaaand... of course I liked the cheat code, nice one. Character is cute, so I drew her. Keep the good work.

The controls are the same, I've just been updating all character sprites so maybe the character feels a bit different.
Thank you very much for the art and taking you time to play the demo. Good results.

i'm not a big fan of the pink color palette, but the sexy loading screens are incredible added value.

also, some of the puzzle platforming is surprisingly tight, which is a good thing

Disclaimer: Only platformer I played in last twenty years was VVVVV.

I had fun playing Panic Floor, but issues with the controls. Fundamentally, there is air control in the game, so after jumping normally, one has to keep holding the key for jump direction. However, when wall-jumping off a wall, one must NOT hold/press the key for the direction, or else one just falls of the wall, without jumping. I failed circa 98% of my walljumps like that. It was really hard for me to stop pressing the wrong key.

Regarding gameplay: Almost all levels are extremely unforgiving. To the point that there is just one input sequence, with one execution timing, that will finish the level, and basically no other viable input sequences that can finish. Not even waiting somwhere along the way is possible most of the time. I feel that, at the extreme, it doesn’t make a difference to play blindfolded or not, once you know the sequence to execute. You know what I mean?

Well, this is at least how I got through the game. Teach myself the right sequence, step by step. I mean, levels are short, just 3-5 seconds and maybe 6-10 key presses on average.  I have no opinion on whether this is good or bad - it is definitely unusual or unexpected. Makes its character more like a "rhythm game" (never played one) or something?

Anyhow. The execution is very good! Controls feel crisp and art is amazing/unique

I'll take into consideration the wall sliding mechanic and perhaps disable disconnecting from a wall while the player is is in that state and not touching the ground. Might become a feature if this doesn't cause any conflicts with level design.
Thank you very much for the feedback and providing a playtest video. I have taken notice on  glitch when you break through +999 deaths.

I'm reminded of those early 2010s fiendishly hard Flash platformers. Feels very polished, the blocks laughing at your skill issues is a nice touch.

Developer

Thank you playing the game.

I like the addition of the sign posters in the game's rooms.

The WASD code mentioned in the other Itch page works. However, after racking up the death count to 125, I can say that I haven't seen these mood expression changes. Once that's looked at, I think you could also activate this feature one the timer says 5 seconds left in hard mode.

Developer

Mood expression change takes effect at every 250 death. So [0-250], ]][250-500], [500-750], [750-infinite.
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion.

Very nice as always.

I noticed tweaks to some of the old levels and I liked them pretty universally, as well as the levels I hadn't seen before. Fine work.

Developer

It's not  a feature I'm sure I'll maintain yet but each floor now has a chance of randomizing a mirrored version of the level room to give some variety in case the player wants to replay the game.
I'm still considering making many variations of the same level layouts for each floor so that the playthrough offers a different experience.
Thank you for testing the game.
