Track description | Creative process
A Bosa Nova inspired track that just felt right, started with a jazz bass and a Rhodes keyboard then imported into a VST (first time doing it, kinda proud of myself), and gave it a 16bit vibe that matches the old systems.

Chill track, would be cool if there were some rhythm section too!

Such a chill track, would work very well in the game imo ! Nice chord progression and mood overall, the bossa nova is a great idea. Melodic ideas are nice, I'm just having a little reservations on the rythmic parts of it, but very nice track anyway, well done !

lovely cadences, they each made me melttt. the instrumentation and texture works well stylistically (good job on researching and importing :> ) - but i noticed i could hear a little stereo image in the mix and it made me wonder if a) you went full retro and made the whole texture monophonic and maybe played with how it all sits together or b) spread and staged it all out, a little panning, diffusing, and any other way of coloring and enriching the mix to distinguish it altogether? excellent mood and harmonies with the tune, feels respective to the feel of casually shopping between the turn based grind and earthbound's general atmosphere!

I'll be sincere, I'm not a great composer, I just started, and I want to sound all savvy and all, but to be completely honest, it just sounded good to me.

Super cool submission. Bossa nova really fits a shop theme. Makes me wanna buy something! Great work!

I love the little turnaround you do at 0:27 and 1:07.
One of the thing you can easily improve is the instruments choice, to my ears, they are too similar, everything is soft and silky, the bass, keys and melody (also keys?) sounds muchy in the end. The melody should probably be an octave higher to not clash with the chords.
Also when you have such a standard and repetitive chord progression you should search for a more sophisticated bass line.
If your piece is not more fancy than this its also hard to not add drums.
