I beat it in 18 deaths. This was a very fun kind of difficulty and interesting use of mechanics. Only very minor compliant is that games were the player dies a lot a instant restart feels better. Yours's is kind of quick so it is not too bad.

P.S. The winners will be announced on the 1/16/2021, 9 PM GMT on the discord

Developer

Thanks for testing the game. And playing it. Most importantly you enjoyed it.

And i think too that the restart scene should be a fast one, after testing the game i figured that the restart scene should be shorter if not removed at all, and just replacing it with some flash light to restart the level, so that the player don't lose the momentum.

Hey, I actually finished the game. I really like the gameplay, and the traps reminds me of Cat Mario xD. though i must say the game is very difficult

Either way, nice game!

Cat Mario was my inspiration. And these two levels were originally 5 levels but duo to short time,  I took  what was working and smashed them together.

Thank you very for playing ad finishing the game, beside of me you are the only person who has finished it, and in only six deaths, really great job.

I really enjoyed that game and I nearly completed it but the last bit is impossible :)

Developer(+1)

Lol, yeah the game is very difficult but it's not impossible.

Thanks you very much of the video and playing really appreciate it.

Okay then how do you complete the last bit

Developer(+1)

just fall, then press right and up at the same time you well be sticking to the platform.

This was pretty cool!  I really like the simple yet good looking aesthetic.  The music adds to everything as well.  Good job for your first game jam.

It seems like maybe there are some bugs though.  I was falling through platforms that looked like I was supposed to be able to land of them.  Not sure if that was intentional.

Either way though, good job and I hope you do more game jams and improve upon this!

Developer

There are some platforms that don't have collision so that the player may fall and lose from them as of trap, but there were many bugs i encountered maybe you got in one of them lol.

Thank you very much for playing.

I'm really happy that this is your first game jam. I get the frustration of not getting the game how you want it to be, but that's okay! What's important is is try to get something done, that has a point A and B, without having to think too big. For instance, you mention that your scope was too big for a two week jam. Here's what I recommend, if you participate in another jam where it lasts for a week then try and make something that you think can take only four days. Then you can spend the next couple of days fixing bugs, QA, and thinking about what other ideas that can benefit your game.

Now going to your game, I'm sad to say this but I can't seem to complete it. I have to ask: Is level 1 passable? I can't get across the next platform, as I seem to run out of stamina all of the time.

Developer

Thank you very much for the advice, i guess to that i need to work 1/2 of the time on the game core than the other is for polishing and debugging.

Yes, level 1 is passable. I had a problem with the decreasing value of the stamina if it was 0.1 higher the game will be too easy and you can fly for ever, so i make it 0.1 lower to make the game harder since it's already hard lol.

Thank you very much for playing, and the advice is to implemented in my next game jam project.
