mxmtoon's mona lisa! the whole concept of the song, a creator longing for someone to see them, to become worthy of art, helped me come up with the concept.

i'm so glad you like this, and i hope you'll have a blast making characters inspired by songs!! and hahah i LOVE that you're looking for playlists!! there's something fun about using songs you already know, but a different kind of fun lies in listening to something for the first time and directly interpreting it for characters!!
While the song isn't the type of music I typically listen to, I thought it fit the theme of your game perfectly.
This seems like a fun tool to use! I'm going to keep it in mind the next time I'm looking for some character creation inspiration.

OMG YOUR FIRST GAME!!!!! I'm so proud that you made this for the jam, I just, like... that's kinda my whole goal with life and design: to inspire others and get them to try new things and explore and share their own amazing selves with the world too. And I know I don't really know you or anything but the way your personality pours out here is spectacular 🙀 I love your example, especially, of how you can blend multiple songs together into a single character.
I've always wanted to make a game based on In Our Wake by Atreyu, particularly the general idea of how we pass through life leaving everything/everyone around us in our wake and how it's up to us whether we have a negative or positive influence on that. And now I wanna make a character who's, like... the chosen hero(ine) from a typical RPG and has to rush to save the world, so they can be callous and mean and just take what they want from who they want or be kind and do good deeds along the way but maybe takes too long and they fail to save the world lol.

thank you so much again for creating this jam!! and i'm intrigued and honored by the way you said my personality shows up in the game, that's something close to my heart! i'm always a fan of mashing things up and making something new, so i'm happy that got across!
i'll check out in our wake soon, but also i love the idea and i love the amount of heart that shows up in your games! if you do make such a character i'd love to hear more about them!! i think it's true that oftentimes "heroes" leave a lot of collateral damage, or there's a lot of stakes going on, so it'd be really interesting to see how they manage to balance it! also calls to mind different philosophies in superheroes (a la captain america: civil war hahah). thank you for making this game jam and making all of this possible!!
Yeah, that's exactly it: the darker side of what we don't see with superheroes and all. Like yeah it's cool you're having an epic battle in the middle of a big city but good luck doing that without massive destruction and probably lots of injured people!
And it's my pleasure! Honestly, I'd do it 100 times over if it inspires someone to create the way that you did. Letting my personality into everything I do is super important to me, and I'm probably opening up too much lol but ever since I discovered I was trans, I just like... exploded, personality-wise. And getting that into everything I make or do or say makes me feel so good about myself, and then when people enjoy what I make, it just validates me even more, so thank YOU too!
And I really did mean it, your personality was super clear there in Muse. The exclamation points scattered around, word choice, and especially your example. All super well done, and I'm looking forward to what you create in the future :D

I enjoyed listening to your song inspiration while reading through your character creation tool. That is a fun concept! I've just recently gotten into character creation when I played a game of Legacy of Dragonholt with Beth. I could definitely use something like this to help me with a variety of characters to make the game feel new and take it in a different direction.
