How does your game represent Mode?
We chose to focus on light mode and dark mode. Our character starts in dark mode and after grabbing the key the whole level flips to light mode and you must escape

It's a fun platformer ! Reminds me "Another Perspective" in the mood !
A great idea with a lot of potential. The jumping felt a little awkward at times and on the levels with enemies they didn't seem to react very well to the switching layout but I'd love to see this made into a full game that really makes full use of layout switching in this way. Maybe switching multiple times in a single level or having more things that react to the level change?
The controls are nice and snappy. Good job!
Like everyone else has said, I like the difficulty curve !
The wall jumping was a bit funky, from what I can gather there seems to be two different ways that people do wall jumping;
- hold the direction of the wall when trying to wall jump (what you've programmed)
- hold the direction opposite of the wall when trying to wall jump (this is what I intuitively do)
Different people intuitively seem to choose one of the two methods and its not a bad idea to try and accommodate both (though one is also more difficult to program than the other)
The platforming was nice tho! :)
Simple idea with great execution! The platforming is really satisfying!
The difficulty curve in this one is great. You go from dead simple to fairly challenging, and it feels like you hit all the stops in between. My one piece of feedback is that I think the theme could have been incorporated into the gameplay a bit more. Most of the time, the light and dark modes felt less like modes and more like separate levels (with the exception of the levels with the ghosts. They established that sense of persistence). I think maybe allowing the player to switch modes at will would have gone a long way in improving that feeling that these two modes exist in the same space. Other than that, your game runs great and its a fun little game. Great work!
Good difficulty curve, cute simple game. I like it! Congrats!
Good entry the level design carries the game that has very simple mechanics all the way through. Nice diffculty curve well done!
Thanks for the feedback and playing our game!
