I loved experimenting with different potion combinations. Cool game.

How does your game represent Mode?
In "It Brews Below", you brew potions that alter the effects and states they have, changing their "mode", and use them to defeat monsters in a dungeon. The player switches between combat and "brewing" mode where you can select the ingredients that go into your potions.

I love the Zelda style graphics and the music is great! I like the brewing mechanics, but I don't like switching back and forth between menus to brew. Maybe it would be cool to assign some brews to hot keys to prevent from jumping back and forth. Loved the presentation and the snail collectibles!
Really solid entry. Good gameplay loop, the potion menu screen was super well done, and the overall feel of the game was nice and polished. Well done!
amazing art and music, very gorgeous and professional 10/10. the mechanics of the game are really fun and feel like they could be in-depth. only problem is that i found no reason to brew anything other than explosion and fire explosion, it just felt like i was doing the same thing over and over. however, this game has amazing potential, it could easily become a really great game with a few tweaks. Great job!
Absolutely love taking out the brewing cauldron due to the beautiful spritework. The gameplay can definitely be improved upon as it was getting stale quickly.
Knocking enemies into the pits with the explosion potion was great! Admittedly, I relied so heavily on that strategy that I rarely used the other potions except to add a burning element to the explosion potion, but I could definitely see their uses.
The presentation was also great across the board from the enemy designs to the sound effects. A really solid entry!
Poor snails, they are looking so happy. Still too good not to brew. Amazing game!
This was great!! I really loved the art for the brewing station and especially your thumbnail, and the music was really nice!! I did encounter a slight bug where I would throw an explosion potion at an enemy, enter brewing station, then leave brewing, and the monster would attack then freeze in place right after. I think with some polish this would be really well executed!
Really fun game! It reminded me of Magicka too. The core mechanic is solid. It feels like you guys built the base of a much larger game. Great job!
Fun idea! Really like the art style and the game play was surprisingly polished!
The level of polish in the art is very impressive given such a short design window. However when playing I felt like the actual core mechanic and gameplay could use some more love. Either way well done!
The level of visual polish you all pulled off is really impressive given the time constraints! I think the core idea of mixing potions is a fun one. It reminds of the Magicka, which was always silly fun. I feel like there need to be more reasons to vary which potions I'm using. It also seemed like there were a few performance and technical issues, but that's very understandable when implementing a complicated idea like this in only two weeks. Great work!
The art and music are amazing! The game plays great too and I love all the different potion combinations. I especially love that you can knock enemies into pits with explosions.
Really great pixel art on this! I thought the mechanic idea was super cool, and I would love to see this in a more polished form. I think crafting and using potions to make different attacks is ingenious. I know the feeling of having to release with bugs since we were in a similar situation, but congrats on making this regardless!
Rough around the edges, but I dig it! It's nice playing an entry revolving around combat, and I like the different effects you can apply to enemies (although i mostly spammed freeze and then fire lol). Great art too, but the lack of feedback and potion slots not being visually distinct irk me a bit though.
I really loved this one! The potion mixing mechanic is really fun, though admittedly it felt like only a few combinations were actually useful. Gameplay aside, I loved the environmental storytelling you pulled off throughout the level! Felt really satisfying to predict what the boss was going to be based on all the details spread around. Great work all around!
Cool idea! Liked how many combinations of potions you can make. (Fire puddle melts btw)
