You have a lot of good comments on your plate already, so I'll quickly chime in with most of the topics. (:

Great use of the black & white gb vibe, great way to animate stuff, soundtrack was fine and gameplay feedback was on truly point. Unfortunately, as you said it yourself, not much more to go with.

Hope to see more of it in the future!

I completely agree with the other comments. What i've seen so far is really good. BUT I need more!! The paper pick up was really cool, the aesthetic is wonderful, and the game world seems very flushed out.

It's a shame you couldn't complete it in time. This prototype has the capability to be a spooky adventure title. Like others have said, I loved the feel of walking around (espeically the sprite rotation effect) and interacting with the world. The black-and-white Gameboy asethetic is also distinct and interesting.

Sound effects were on point but the music was more obnoxious than creepy. Also, I think that the character moves a little too slow for my taste. Overall, a great prototype!

I like the concept of the idea, you should consider making this a full game some day. I gave it 4 stars for originality, love the gameboy feel. Also the music makes it have a unique atmosphere, but in my opinion, not the right music. The music makes it seem like a mystery game rather than a horror game. I sadly had to give it 1 star for charm, I felt like the doors looked odd, and it was hard to tell what were stairs and what weren't. Also, when you move the character, it's animation takes away from the gameboy feel. lastly, I give it 2 stars for spookiness. Like I said, the music made it feel like a mystery game. Honestly, if you were to take a lot more time with this project, this could be a master piece. I see potential.

thanks for the comments, that's awesome! Thanks for playing, I agree with the points you're making, I would've loved to change a lot of things in this and flesh out the story and gameplay more but I picked the worst week to join a game jam, I was so busy!

I'm not sure about the future of this game as my time to work on personal projects is so limited but I'd also like to see a better, polished version of this game too :)

It actually looks interesting, I wish it was a finished game.

One thing that bothered me is the rotation of the player as he moves. The pixel perfect rotation is inconsistent with the pixel arts of the game, it harms the GameBoy effect.

I actually just did it as a quick hack to see what it would look like as it meant I wouldn't have to hand animate it so it saved me a lot of time in the end.

Would draw frames if I continue work on this though ;)
