I haven't gotten to every single jam submission yet, but this one is REALLY well polished and a really fun platformer. I'd say this is my top 3 out of the submissions I've gotten to play so far.
As a heads up (and *potential spoiler* for others), I found a glitch where if the girl jumps all the way up to the top left corner of the game screen above the tall mushrooms (on top of the building that traps you with a wall in an initial loop for her), you can get softlocked in screen wrap loops no matter where you try and edit.
Re: "top 3 out of the submissions I've gotten to play so far" Thank you so much! You're very kind!
Re that unintentional "lover's loop": Yes, unfortunately. I *believe* the only potential softlock that would actually reflect in save files is programmatically prevented, so (as you might have discovered, but noting for the benefit of anyone else reading so they don't despair and restart the game) you should be able to quit and reload from the last save and will probably be fine.
I played it I enjoyed it, one thing do is to add some dust particle effects when jumping and walking particle effects when moving overall great job on this man :D
Wow! Love it! I was playing the with Nathan waiting to see how the jam's theme would be implemented and then SURPRISE! Sofia takes over and that's the loop theme. Only critique I can offer is text visibility in the dialogue. Noticed it would just drop letters here and there though I'm unsure if that's a byproduct of the tools being used.
Re: General comments and all: Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.
Re the letters: Oh no! If you're able (I don't mean to presume on the time of strangers!), feel free to let me know where. I haven't noticed any dropped letters in the texboxes, but I'm already taking notes for a polished "not for the jam" version so I'd love to be sure I address it. (I gave at least one country a nearly-'normal' name but I assume that's not what you meant.)
It's mainly during gameplay. After I woke up Sofia, some letters were only being partially drawn. Should've taken a screen shot of it, sorry I can't be more helpful than that.
No trouble--I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it. Thanks again!
