The presentation is good and the art is very rich in detail. Gameplay feels good and fast. The level is compact and well made. It was also a very good idea to place health items around the map. As you can die fast this is a good solution to avoid frustration. Maybe you should have tied the attack action to a key press instead of the left mouse click. It doesn't feel right, as you can't aim or change attack direction.

As you had a sound designer in the team, here two super useful tips for him you don't get everywhere:

- The game is way too loud. The recommendation for video games is to have an average loudness of -23 LUFS for 30min of gameplay. You can download a free loudness meter, for example the Oculus one and measure the loudness easily: https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-audio-loudness-meter/
- You can hear pretty clearly when the music loops restarts. It breaks some of the immersion. Just try to work out how seamless loops works : )

Good work, keep it up!

Thanks man! I sent those suggestions to our sound designer :D.

Awesome piece mate :) !! The art and animations were great (loved the joystic health containers and mouse weapon ;D)! The music was awesome and the gameplay though simple, did it's job very nicely ! The story also fit the theme of the jam perfectly !

Keep this up ! You and your team are part of the minority that finished a whole game from scratch :) !

Thanks, BlackthornProd!

Very good visuals and art, it would need a bit polishing in the battle system! cheers!

The animations, visual style , music and presentation are amazing, but yeah the combat feels really choppy. While attacking I would often rely on blind luck and button mashing to make it through.

With some added time and polishing to the combat though I think this game would really stand out as something great.

ALSO 5 stars for that wonderful pun

Developer

Thanks! I love pun too :). We had a really amazing musician/sound designer who did all of that, and the whole team was astounded at it. Yeah, I did need to work more on the combat system. It wouldn't always register hits, or the spiders would be able to pass through the sword and stuff. If I get time to remake this game outside of a jam I'll put a ton of heavy attention into the gameplay. I lot of the trouble with jams is you never have enough time to actually polish everything you need.

Yeah completely agree.I'm always kinda disheartened when I finish a game jam.....Because there's always  something that didn't make it in,or that just needed a day or two of improving

The visuals are great and I like the animations but the gameplay feels a bit choppy I got stuck in some platforms when I was moving the character and in combat it feels imposible to avoid being hit! However it was a good experience! Keep going!

Developer

Thanks man! Yeah, I didn't realize that gameplay is usually more important in game jams than art. I realized this way too late into my project. But thanks for your feedback!

I like the art and the music but it's a bit too hard to avoid enemies but overall good game :)
