I liked the animation :) And storywise it's good, kinda sad, but good, touching.
The level is not enclosed - is it intended? First time I played it I ended up walking on its 'roof' as soon as I got the Vector2.MoveTo-grapple, but nothing was happening there.
Yeah that was not intended. The game didn't have much time to be polished,it was pretty rushed(because of school exams :/ ).I'll patch it up after the voting is over. Thanks for bringing to my attention
I'm glad you liked the animation and the story :3
Thanks for playing!
This is a great little story! I was wondering if the developer text was meant to be cut off, it seems from your screenshots that it was? I also felt bad when the game closed, it was very sad. One thing that disturbed me a bit was the hook mechanic (which I love!!), it was easy to latch onto something mid-air and thus start flying forever, not really sure if i was going to hit something or not. That could be as easy as just adding a lower ceiling to give the player some context of where they are. But the core part of the game, the story, is very enjoyable and poignant.
Thanks for the feedback I'll certainly update and fix all of the bugs once the game jam voting is over.So thanks for notifying me about the bugs
And yeaah there's a lot of polish missing to this game,I guess trying to balance exams and game-jams kinda does that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Glad you enjoyed the core part of the game, thanks for playing ^⌣ ^
I remember this game from YourBr0ther's stream! I just tried it myself too, and I loved it!
The character evolving through the game was my favorite part, and I liked the grappling hook gameplay. I confess I wasn't expecting to hear The Godfather's theme in this game, I laughed so hard when it started to play! When the game closed itself I felt bad for it, but I was still laughing because of the music XD
Great game, congrats for your entry! ^^
Thanks for the compliments, the ending was pretty rushed.Like the 30minutes before the submissions closed I was working on the ending level platforms.I was planning on making a giant chase scene where the player was being chased by the" deleter"(But it didn't make it in,because of time).
Glad to hear you felt something at the end, when submitting I was really worried that people wouldn't like the ending.
Thanks for playing my game :D
Really fun game, I love the story and progression the game goes through.
Thanks for playing my game,I'm glad to see you enjoyed it :3
I has a real fun with the grappling hook :D A pity there was no secrets in some places :D good job anyway, very fun game :)
Oh yeah I may have accidentally given clues to secrets with out of place sprites(and lack of collision)....Sadly I didn't have time to put in any secret dialogue or anything like that :P
Thanks for playing my game, glad you had fun with the grappling hookヽ(´▽`)/
I liked the idea and the humour!
Nice level design ideas at the end, try to work this part next time to add a bit of challenge!
Good work!
Yeah I ran out of time at the end,I planned to make a additional part where you're being chased by a cleaner(deleter/something), but I ran out of time. Thanks for playing my game, glad you had fun playing it ヽ(´▽`)/
Neat game! My favorite part was when you added in the animations. I actually laughed out loud when he suddenly sprouted a body.
Ha,thanks...I'm glad that my evoked a emotion on your playthrough. While developing I really didn't think much of that part.So I'm glad that I created some accidental comedy there. Thanks for playing my game :D
That was totally fun to play! i reached it until the end! it was like the computer was alive! What a humorus story! And very good placing of music and sounds! i want to see chapter 2 haha!
I'm really glad you enjoyed it.I'm definitely thinking of continuing this game somewhere down the road. The music was made only using the accordion bass notes(excluding the last part). Thanks for playing my game :D
You can play accordion ?, thats cool
Loved it :) i like the way the story is put together
Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for taking your time out of your day to play my game :D
100% expected an undertale twist when the game quit itself, sad but true story. i absolutely love how you handled the grapple mechanic, falling and then grappling gave me tons of momentum and made it feel so smooth!
Glad you enjoyed the game.If I ever pick this game up again,I'll definitely use the undertale twist. The grapple mechanic was actually made very late in the development, almost like 12 hours before submissions. So I'm glad people enjoyed it.
Played through and rated! loved the humorous commentary, the swing mechanic at the end was cool. I didn't really enjoy the music (but that's really cause I don't like accordion sounds) But overall the idea was brilliant!
Very good humour, the dialouge was very good. Very little gameplay though. The accordium just adds to the weird feel this game has. Also, if you were to ask me, i would remove the spongebob jokes. But, overall a very good experience.
Yeaah,It's a weird game.Yeah I don't know why I put the spongebob time cards, but I just love the french narrator guy....If I could get my hands on that narrator I would probably make a whole game narrated by him. Thanks for playing my game though :)
When is the Sequel? We need more Compy the Program! <3
.
Good game mate, I love the hook haha. I liked how you managed to put the jam theme in the game, well done!
Also I would appreciate if you try my submission! https://itch.io/jam/blackthornprod-game-jam-1/rate/319018
Thanks for playing my game. The hook was a last ditch effort before submitting the game and it turned out surprisingly fun.
