How did you/your team interpret the theme?
Your are the hero's companion. You help them run their errands and collect their sword because they have a habit of throwing it.

Good art and concept, the platforming physics seems a bit weird. And sometimes the hero throw his sword too high and it may end in a wall impossible to reach.
Really good art and concept, music fits it very well, but that controls aren't good in my opinion...
You did a great job with the art in this game! As others have said, the controls are not very tight which makes the game frustrating at times. I would really love to see this game polished up. Nice job!
I'm not a very good artist, but I wonder if it would look better if parts of the hero didn't blend into the background. I like the art style though! I was unfortunately too terrible at this game to get very far and I am not sure to what extent to blame the platforming physics.... your sidekick kind of moves like Luigi (slippery, low air speed), and I can't necessarily say it's wrong but a lot of people seem to have difficulty with it.
I had enough fun to lost a few times in the same place, and I appreciate that you made everything by yourself! Thank you for sharing your game.
Nice game, really liked the pixel art and the music!
I love the concept, and the presentation's really good too. The character designs were super interesting, and I love the sword throw animation. The font and pause menu had some weirdness with the text overflowing, however.
My issues were twofold, however. First being the implementation of the main mechanic. The hero keeps throwing his sword to areas that are really difficult to reach, but then keeps moving. Since he can't defeat all the enemies in his way you keep have to fight through tons of enemies when you go to return the sword, and even more if you have to go back and hit a switch. I'd recommend having him stop in place if he doesn't have the sword.
The second was that the jump controls were very slippery and annoying to play through. Being able to change velocity in mid-air is a crucial element of platforming games, and it's really annoying to be unable to, especially with the enemies knocking you around.
Other than that, the game was still pretty good, it just needs some polishing.
Thank you for playing and the constructive feedback! I will have them in mind from now on!
I think both the theme and the art are cohesive, the world looks nice, the controls feels a bit weird tho, overall, pretty good
I love the idea and the art is very well put together. Although something about the jumping controls and slippery movement made this feel like a rage game. The good thing is that there is a lot of small physics things you can do that will mostly fix this.
I noticed that if the hero throws the sword up high it becomes impossible to grab, is there a workaround for that I can use?
I tried to make it possible to platform to any place the sword can be thrown. If you find any place where you can't reach the sword, I would appreciate it if you may let me know where that is so I can make it possible to platform there.
