I thought it was super cute. I've been wanting to do some 2.5D, so it was nice to see and take some notes.

I was having a very hard time collecting 91 nuts in the first wave. I'm not sure if the challenge was just too much for me, but I never survived the winter. lol.

Oh Hi Jonathan. Thanks for playing the game. You don't have to collect all the nuts in the first wave. Collecting and burying the nuts shouldn't bring any challenge to you until you play it for the second time. Here are some notes:
1. When it's sunny, find some shelters. Watch out your stamina and get ready for the storm. Bury as much as possible is a plus to give you more challenge. Remember to restore your stamina by eating acorns or it will be over.
2. During the storm you need to go to the shelter and enter E to skip the storm.
3. Even if you don't bury any acorns, you can still survive the storm!
Burying the acorns is a soft design and we set a challenge list to make it more engaging. Only stamina will lead to the game over check. In the end those buried acorns will become a tree planted statistics - showing you how many oak trees are now growing.

  • Successfully plant 0 trees - Feast tier.
  • Successfully plant 10 trees - Silver tier.
  • Successfully plant 20 trees - Gold tier.
  • Successfully plant 30 trees - Platinum tier.
  • Successfully plant 50 trees - Diamond tier.

Ah, okay. TY. I had some trouble in the tutorial and I think I misunderstood how it worked. I tried again and I definitely faired better.

Always love 2.5D style! I encountered a small bug in the tutorial too, but I was able to play after restarting the game.

Nice game! I liked the graphics and the idea! I had a small bug in the tutorial trying to pick up the first nut, but it was very cool overall!

Impressive game! currently it's quite difficult to see and navigate the area and i hope the acorns just come directly at the close range. other than that, it's really well done!

Wow this is really cool, I love the perspective and the feeling of the jumping. The squirrel looks cute and the mechanic with the acorns is simple but fun.

I think going to explore during the tutorial breaks the tutorial and it was easier for me at that point to reload the whole game to see it again. Other than that I think you did a great job on this game!

This game was cute, simple and fun. I have never played a game where I get to be a squirl before and I loved the innovation of gameplay. Hiding acorns and then forgetting where they were after a storm was such a good touch. I like to give constructive feedback but I can only think of two after playing. First I think the camera perspective is difficult to navigate with for a 3D game. Because the environment is 3D but the perspective is fixed it makes it difficult to navigate the world, you could solve this by making the level design more linear or by allowing the player to move the camera (maybe keyboard to move mouse to dig and burry acorns and change perspective). Second I think the player should have an indication that the storm is coming besides the top left. The storm started on a wave and I didn't realize it and it took me a few seconds to get to the shelter, even though I made it to the shelter the screen still faded to black and I lost. This can be solved by either giving the player a visual indication of the exact moment where they will loose the game if they don't find shelter. It never feels good to be surprised by a game over. Overall this is one polished game jam game and I enjoyed it a ton! I especially like the mix of 2D and 3D, amazing job!
