Liked the art style. I initially thought there was a bug because I clicked to go shopping and nothing happened; it would help to have some indicator to show that the button worked. Best way to learn though is to keep making games!

First thing first the game is great. The art looks high quality and the movement seems smooth. SO great job with the game jam.

Now coming to the text at the start, just remember, this is a game jam not one single person going to judge you for making a bad game so no need to mention your age and say something about yourself. The only thing they will think is "well he made this game in one week". The game you made now is a dream for others like me to make some day. So, look forward to making more fun and crazy games.

Kudos for completing this game jam successfully!! ;D

Nice pixel art and nice work with the character animation! Make sure you build the game around the theme though. Keep up the good work!

First of all - don't be self deprecating and don't use your age as excuse. You can do great things at that age, don't let yourself to stop and say "ah, that is good enough, I am kid after all" If you love gamedev - nothing can stop you :)

As for the game - it is harsh concept :D Reminds me of "Paint Drying" movie :)

good concept, that remenber me the game "The Longing". also I love your pixel art style. Good job !

Overall I like the idea - very "avant-garde" and well scoped for a game jam. Keep it up! In terms of feedback, there could be a better indication of where to get food from (i was trying to interact with the boxes) - maybe a very clear doormat or a UI element to show that it's an interactive spot. I also had a bug where the eat food/drink screen got stuck and wouldn't go away.

You did a good effort, it can be a good game if you want it to be!

The more jams you join the more you will learn! You're young and ambitious keep that in you!

The game offers an interesting take on surviving a pandemic, capturing the essence of the lockdown experience with a minimalist approach. The concept of managing supplies during COVID is both relevant and timely. However, the gameplay feels a bit unpolished, with rapid supply collection that detracts from the overall challenge. The graphics and audio are functional but could use more refinement to enhance immersion. Despite these issues, the game effectively conveys its message and stands out for its originality. With more polish and balancing, it could become a more engaging and memorable experience.

Great job on your second game jam, and keep up the good work!

Also can you check our game? Thx in advance!

i liked the concept, i think if you were given a bit more time, the gameplay could have felt a bit more polished. really liked this entry regardless, reminded me how boring life was during lockdown 😭(in a good way btw, your game really does capture the essence well LOL)

Developer

Hey, nice project. I guess getting the food might come with some more difficulty, but maybe it is something to do if you plan to work later on the project :)

Developer

50/50 to get a drink and two food or get a food and two drink , i was have an idea that player go to the market to get food and fight with like 15 people trying to get food like you but my homework will not let me do that duh , but thank

Game was fun, not in the gameplay but in message it told. It was the only game this game jam that made me feel something. I think this minimal game loop fits well with the story/message of the game.

Only thing I would change is displaying time in years, months, days, hours, minutes. It would add even more to the expirience since now it's only a big number with no meaning. But when knowing it takes 2 years to beat the game it says more.

Developer

it really take you 2 and a half year for the timer turn zero but it just going minus . duh it not really have an ending , but thank

I like the idea, though it's a pretty bleak reminder of how we all lived during COVID ahah

Good job!

Love the way you comment :)

With a bit more time i think you could have had a nice gameplay, i think the theme is well picked and matches with the jam

Good Idea.

if you want to improve this project you should add a cost to find supply like use half a day to get 1 supply (now I can rapidly click on find supply and i got supply about 10 food and water within a second)
