Feedback on Hermit!

Hello guys,

I've published a first demo of Hermit and I would appreciate some feedback or tips on next steps.

"Hermit is the name of a small and elusive crab. Help him to take shelter from the storm!"

You can play it here:

https://pequenodev.itch.io/hermit

I have an idea regarding how to scale the core mechanic on next levels, but I'm not really sure and would like to know some opinions.

 What's supposed to come:

Ability

  • Keep Calm I (Space bar) - Hold position and let time elapse
  • Keep Calm II (Space bar) - Hold position and protect from one lightning

Do you any design ideas to work and combine with it?

Thank you for your time!

You need to publish it before anyone can give you any feedback.

In "Visibility & Access" section, choose either "Restricted" or "Public".

The game is already very easy (good thing in a jam game).

Keep Calm I could be interesting if there are "enemies" who might push you away from safety, so you need to time it on the right turn and think just a little bit ahead.

Can't think of anything for Keep Calm II right now.

The art is very cute btw! Hope you add music and SFX before the jam is over.

Thank you Jorava!

Yeah, I should polish the first part levels a little to make mechanics more juicy.  Also for the final version I have in mind to add some SFX and progressive music, but didn't found anything with the propper feeling for now...

Definitely it would be interesting some kind of enemy, maybe also some other weather element besides lightnings.

I really appreciate your comment, thank you guy  :)

I liked it! The gameplay was simple, creative and effective. It felt intuitive and the art style was nice. I think some audio could greatly enhance the game and make the rhythmic movement feel more natural and impactful. Great job overall!

Thank you biscuit!

It's sad a rhythmic game that is not implementing any sound hahaha... Its prepared for it and I'll be adding audio stuff at some point before sunday! :)
