great visuals and a really polished patformer, where to get through it nothing really can go wrong haha, I wish I was better at platformers as I was not able to get too far into it

Developer

thank you soo much!

A really nice game with great visuals. The sticking onto walls made a lot of jumps rather hard but I think fixing it would make the game feel a lot more polished and fun. Perhaps by making it so that you only cling to walls if you are moving in that direction,. But  it is still fun regardless. Awesome game!

thank you so much1 as for the wall climbing, i also found it troublesome but couldnt really think of what to do about it

A simple wall jump would be great. Could add more to the platforming with it!

A little slow to load, but glad I waited! Very fun game but that lava is relentless! Pixel art looks great too! Great job!

A fun game (after all that loading), has a vibe similar to celeste. I like the music and sound effects. The lava rising was a bit annoying. I managed to climb up a fair bit after realizing that I could double jump. I like the checkpoint system, but I think it might have bugged out as I was sometimes sent back to the start of the game.

Developer

thank you for your feedback, you getting send to the start was a feature of the lava, when you die from the lava it does that, but maybe i should have not added that feature

Unfortunately the game freezes immediately upon pressing start (freezing entire browser), seems like an infinite loop of some sort? Not sure but I couldn't play unfortunately :(

The game looks good though! Graphics seem very nice as well.

If your browser isn't crashing, let it cook for just a little longer. Particles are compiling and the game should eventually load up all the way.

Submitted(+1)

I tried running it on itch and it kept crashing my entire browser (happened three times). The art looks nice, hopefully you can find out whats going on!

Developer

I can't tell whats the problem a lot of people are having difficulties with it but I'm using a Mac so idk what they are talking about. will test on a proper computer later

Developer

apparently the particals are just compiling so just wait for a bit and it should work

Submitted(+1)

I see you pulled your zip so I tried the in-window player and unfortunately found it non-responsive. Was very excited to try it given the Celeste vibes I got from your art.

Developer

do you have any idea why it didnt work? what type of computer are you using

Submitted (1 edit)

I'm running at the high end of mid-range rigs. Tried via Chrome, Firefox and Edge. I was able to interact with the main menu but couldn't move the player character once the next scene loaded in. Audio still plays in.

Developer

oh then maybe it has to do with the controls, i dont think im allowed to update the game anymore though...

Submitted

Debug is allowed until 3 AM PST according to the announcement in the Brackey's Discord! If you manage to get it working, please let me know so I can try it out!

Developer (1 edit)

are you using a controler? because i just added in controler support now

Submitted

I checked back in and got it to run! Are you using particles by any chance?

Developer

yeah do you think that's the problem

Submitted (1 edit)

I think that's what's up. Godot doesn't do particle caching, it compiles them at run time. I thought this may be the case so I let the game run for a bit longer and it started behaving as intended. I'd put a note up on one of your pages giving folks the heads up that it takes a bit to load shaders and will eventually work as intended!

Now that I've seen it, well done! It delivered like I'd hoped it would!

thank you so much ! very glad someone enjoyed my game!

The downloaded .zip was not a proper executable project, so I had to use GDRE Tools to run it in Godot. Apart from that, on first impressions the art is really nice but the way the player got stuck to the walls was quite hard (or maybe I just suck at platformers). The game is complete with fancy particles and the game sometimes blocked my movements. Anyways, the game was incredibly polished and beautiful.

Developer

thank you so much! i do understand your feedback though, i did find the wall climbing a little annoying, but i didnt know how i should do wall climbing as i cant just remove it cuz alot of the game needs it
