In what way does your game fit the theme?
Like rewinding a coil of rope or tape by rotating it in one direction, you rewind your fishing line by rotating your control stick.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all of the code ourselves and made most of the assets ourselves. Credits for the non-custom assets will be credited in the game's description.

I recommend, for future jams, to make multiple versions of the game to make it more accessible for others to play. Not every has X computer or X type of peripherals to play and making options makes it so that more people can enjoy your game.
Aaaaahhh. No controller for me. I wanted to cast and catch me some fish! Looks fun though. I will still rate you on what I can though.
Could you please play and rate my game as well?

Looks like a great game, what a pitty I don't have a controller :(
This is a pretty cool and unique take on the rewinding! Unfortunately there was no challenge whatsoever which took away a lot of potential fun. Also, since there's no real incentives for collecting money it felt a little useless. It made me think that it could be cool to use collected money to upgrade your ship or something like that. But either way, the concept itself is nice, it just needs a little challenge ;)
I found this game nice but a bit boring, especially for the fact that it is developed by four people .. I think we could have done better with a team and a week of time. Also I don't understand why not to put keyboard controls in a PC game. I think we need a fifth person for marketing choices ;)
Appreciate the blunt feedback! While we have 4 people in the credits we all had other projects and/or day jobs we had to attend to while learning unity in order to participate in the jam since we had about a month of experience between us. We'll definitely be able to push out better games once we get more adept at this!
This is a very unique entry, and a fun little arcade game! Well done with the unique twist of the theme. The way the controls were mapped made the game fun to play. Even though it was very short, I liked the experience. Well done! :)
I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but sometimes when I throw the line on the fish, it doesn't catch them and stays on top of them.
Thanks for playing! I'm sorry about the bug you encountered. We thought we squashed it for this released :(
Really memorable game! The way you use controllers to play it makes it different from any other entry :D Really well done and thought out. Hope you try mine too https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/722968
Thanks for playing! i played yours earlier today and i left a comment for ya there :)
Unique game! I love the art and music. The controller made rewinding the line fun.
Cute little fishing game :) PS I went and dug up a controller to get this working hehe, worth it though, significantly different from the rest of the games I've played this jam so far :)
Hi all, and thanks for checking out our submission for the jam! Please note the following:
*KNOWN BUG*: If you let the fish escape by getting too close to the top of the screen, the game doesn't properly stop your boat's movement toward the shore. Try to not let this happen! Unfortunately, i did not find this bug until after the jam was over.
Looks like a great idea, but sadly I don't have a controller XD (I tried pushing all my keys on the keyboard hehe, but perhaps I missed the controls?)
I enjoyed this game! I know it was mentioned once but it sucks that you automatically lose after missing a fish. :( Otherwise though, I really liked the concept and it was a really cool and unique take on the theme. Great job!
Thanks for playing and commenting! Do you mean that sometimes, if you lose a fish, you keep advancing toward the shore?
Yes. All three times that I played I was pulled all the way to the shore if I missed a fish, regardless of how far away from the shore I was. Unless maybe that wasn't a bug and I'm just bad haha
No, that's an unfortunate bug :( sorry the game was broken for you
Oh it's okay, it happens to the best of us. :) I loved the concept though!
Luckily had a controller cause I made my game playable with both. Looks like a fun idea that I would never think of and hope you had a great time working in a team. Pretty enjoyable for a short experience! Maybe make an option menu for the inverted aiming and also one of my fishes escaped and I got to the shore very fast.
yeah that's a bug we didn't catch in playtesting but my GF found it when she played it after the jam. Lesson learned to have someone outside the dev team play the game at least a couple times!
Sadley couldn't play because I had a keyboard. Seemed like it could've been fun though.
