In what way does your game fit the theme?
Its an RTS game where you control pink cubies and need to defeat enemies together to clear levels

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I wrote all the code and made assets from scratch. This includes music, particle system, tileset, sprites, and everything else other than sound effects.

Good First Game! It felt really short but the mechanics are there. Keep the good work. Rated it.

P.S. Check our game and rate if you can please :D

Developer

Thank you! It was a great learning experience. Bit off  a little more than I could chew. Will check out your game!

Wow I'm really impressed that this is your first game! An RTS is an awesome pick! Good job! I'd love to play a longer version with more enemies and characters! I'd like to hear some more magical sounding attacks next time. Loved it though

Developer

You are completely right. I didnt even think about the SFX. Plus, those are the only things I didn't make myself so they sound horrible. I will work on this and hope you will try it when its updated!!

This was pretty cool! Not bad for a first game. My main concern was the controls for me (because I'm on a trackpad instead of mouse) were a bit difficult. This was a really neat idea, keep it up!

It was a little short but an epic start to a great RTS, id say keep working on it and fleshing it out if you want to make it into a larger game.

Developer

Definitely! I still have a few collision issues but once I fix them, I think expanding on it shouldn't be that hard since I already have the mechanics to control hundreds of characters.

A little bit too short if you ask me xD
Thank you sooo much for trying though and leaving feedback. I will be sure to check out your game! <3

short is actually good for jam games since people prefer playing short games then moving onto another one

Developer

Yea that makes sense. This is my first jam so I didn't know xD

I agree with the majority. The controls were difficult to find but great job for your FIRST ever game!!

Developer

Yea I agree. I gave control under the play button in the menu but I could've been more clear. Thank you for trying it out and leaving feedback! <3 :)

For anyone willing to try the game, I apologize for not clearly explaining the controls or having tutorials. The controls are under the 'play' button in the menu. You can basically either left click a pink 'Cubie' or left click and drag to select all the 'cubies' under that area. Then right click to move where you want to. They have a light underneath them if they are selected so you know which units are selected. Also, I recommend playing on full screen. Sorry for the silly mistake, this is my first 'game' if this can even be considered one. <3 :)

liked the idea of an rts but i had to try really hard to find the controls. Great for the first game, next time put some information about how to play and a tutorial.

Developer

I apologize. I took way more than I could handle and ended up not making any tutorial or more levels. Thank you so much for trying it out and giving feedback. Really appreciate it<3

I really couldn't figure out how to move... If you added controls to the itch.io page or even in the game itself (or even in this comment), I'd move to play again once I know more.

Developer

Controls are under the 'Play' button in the menu but I do apologize for this as even they arent that clear.  You can basically either left click a pink 'Cubie' or left click and drag to select all the 'cubies' under that area. Then right click to move where you want to. They have a light underneath them if they are selected. Again, sorry for the silly mistake

Thank you for replying, I found it the second time when I clicked play, if it was there the whole time, I'm really sorry! I updated my rating now that I could play the game! I enjoyed the game a lot, the sound was just a tad bit louder than it needed to be. Since there was your first game, well done! I like the art and the sound even though it was loud. (Might want to check the collision for the 2nd level as I could just teleport through the walls if I wanted to move through them).

Developer

I realized how loud it was a little too late. Also, you are completely right. I notice there are issues with the collision. Thank you so much for giving it another try and providing advice. This really helped me a lot!! <3
