Ranked from 16 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

In what way does your game fit the theme?
Four of our five team members are students with children at home. The pandemic has stressed how chaotic it can be to balance work and family. Also, we chose Remus and Romulus as incarnation of chaos, putting destruction and mess on the civilization side of the nature/culture opposition.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
No.

Hi!

Loved the aesthetics and the concept, it was really a chaos taking care of the babies haha!

Also, please check out our game, it would mean a lot.

I like the idea of Romulus and Remus sprinting all over the place, trying to corral them and also help them eat while everything is being destroyed by the gods. An interesting take!

the animations and models are great, but i feel like the lighting needs some work. I also had trouble with the interface not scaling correctly sometimes.

The animation is really nice

wanted to make a game like this but with a bird...changed my mind, now i regret lol

nice game, nice concept!

did you use the full week? just curious

Developer

Hi, thanks for the review!

We didn't really use the full week, no. We are all full-time students (and most of us are parents). We did this project on our spare time, which is not that much. We mostly integrated assets on Friday and wrote our code on Saturday. We had another scene and other features that we worked on and we were halfway there, but they were not at a completion point were they could be functional.

We'd be glad to play your bird game if it becomes available!

You are more than welcome! If youll'd love to laugh, you can check my own jam game.

The bird game...i'll start something lol

nice and original idea, Ihad fun roaming around as a wolf :) Good Job!

Developer

Thanks! The wolf is a really cool asset we found on the Asset store during the jam. It took us quite some time to make it work as we intended, since we are very new to Unity and game dev'. But the author has a pack loaded with other functionalities you could check.

Nice concept! I really like how you multitask trying to get Remus and Romulus to stay close to you all while dealing with meteorites falling at you. Wish there was a command to yell for Remus and Romulus to come closer to you. Overall, I had fun trying to be a mother wolf

Developer(+1)

Thanks! You are right that the interactions with the babies could use more polish and ergonomy. It was our first jam and we are very new to game dev', so we are proud to have delivered something, but had we have more time or experience, this would have been one of our main focus. We'll try to find a way to keep this project alive during our free time, but since we are all full-time students and most of us are parents, it might take a while!

It's a fantastic first jam submission! This is our first jam too and are also full-time students, so we understand the struggle LOL

I like the idea. Gameplay was pretty solid and swimming bought me haha. I would maybe suggest adding some kind of indicator for Romulus and Remus as they can get lost easily if I leave them alone for a moment, but then maybe that's the whole point of 'chaos' :) Either way fun game, well done!

Developer

You are so right about finding a way to better keep track of the babies. We had a tutorial scene without babies to get used to navigation, the layout of the level + the hunting mechanic. The babies were intended to come mid-way in game-play, with a more forgiving start that evolved to a more difficult experience. The exploding trees were meant to give some sort of indication as to where one of them would be at the moment, but it's not helpful enough. A mix of a "smell" sense and a better vantage point should do the trick. Thanks for the review, it was very helpful!

Pretty fun and original idea. Was wondering what the game was gonna be like from that cover image, was not disappointed with the answer.

Thanks! Your profile picture is pretty badass too!
