Great looking game!  Definitely hard to squeeze through some of those attacks though.

This game looks surprisingly good given that you don't use that much art. I get a nice 80:s vibe. As others had mentioned, the hitboxes felt quite unfair. Good entry, good job!

It is a simple and very polished game. Your game looks perfect for a JAM. The asteroid hitbox seemed a little unfair though xd Nice work!!

Developer

I know the hitbox is a little unfair but I only realized that after the time for submissions ended so I hoped nobody would notice. But here we are I guess. Thanks for the reply though.

Fun game, until it becomes impossible to win. Some of the asteroid spawns felt like they couldn't be beat.

The asteroid hit-boxes were a bit bigger than the sprite, it seemed. I think the hit-box should not cover too much of the back of the asteroid so you can slip past them easier and overall the hit-box should be a little smaller than the sprite itself.

The music would play on top of itself each time the level restart. By the fourth restart I was hearing a garbled mess of multiple versions of the same music looped on top of each other.

Pressing space to toggle your direction gives the player less control but I think makes for a more interesting experience because more thought goes into where and when to toggle instead of the second nature of up and down keys.

Overall, a decent entry. It would have been a lot more nice if the difficulty was a little more reasonable.

Thanks for taking the time to write a report. I already know about those problems but did not have the time to fix it. Thanks for the report though!

Loved the music and overall aesthetic! Really good use of a simple single game mechanic/interaction; that being said, I would have loved to be able to move the spaceship around.

Thanks for the reply! We originally designed the game that way so it would be harder. But thanks for providing feedback anyways!

The difficulty level is exquisite! It's a good minimal game that fits the pixel art style.

Developer

Thanks for giving the game a try and also taking the time to write a comment!

Music is excellent!  So, it's like Flappy Bird, but with an alien?  I don't know about the theme.  Perhaps you could have made the fireballs human enemies instead?  The game is tough, Flappy Birds style controls would have made it easier.

Decent effort overall.

Thx for replying, we originally designed the game like that and it was meant to be this way. But thanks for the reply.
