Finished WIP not exclusive to this jam

Earlier this June, we happened to resurrect a 7 years old WIP on a whim. Everything coalesced into a perfect springboard to get the work done, and we now have a release date on September 8th! Will it be acceptable for submission?

I will completely understand if that is not allowed. I just thought it’s a good story fitting for this jam’s theme (and I plan on writing why we abandoned it before, what happened in the meantime, and what got us to work on it again).

Also, is paid project against the jam rules? Should it be free for the duration of the jam? I am also willing to provide keys for the hosts (and we also have community copies available on release).

Yes, that's fine to submit! Paid projects are allowed, but anything submitted to the jam must be free to play for the duration of the jam + the two weeks immediately following the end of the submission period.

Thanks for the clarification!

After talking with my friends, we have decided that we would do the original release plan (which means I cannot submit the game here because the game is only free via community copies). However, I did the write-up here and here, which may be interesting for people of this jam. Bring out your ghosts, people. They may come to live all-anew :)
