Really good idea. A bit of tutorial would be pretty handing when playing for the first time. Some background music would really enhance the experience. Bullet patterns were really good. I enjoyed playing it once I wrapped my head around the card rules. Well done!
Of course a tutorial, main menu, music and a beginning cutscene were all cut because I was running out of time. I spent too much time on those cards!
Definitely adding those when I complete the game.
Great work! I'd love to see a more finished version.
The combination of card game and bullet hell is really interesting; definitely reminds me of Undertale. I'm not sure if I ever fully understand how the card game section worked though, particularly what it meant to use card / send card. The bullet hell patterns were really pretty, but some of them seemed too small so you could avoid them just by standing at the edge of the screen.
My favorite part was the art style—it's super cute!
Didn't have time for actual patterns, so the patterns are randomly generated. The small ones you can avoid and murder waves are just bad luck. I can definitely improve the bullet pattern system, but I want to make set patterns for the completed version.
I guess I can explain the use/send function since there's no tutorial. Using a card will activate it's main effect. Sending a card will send it to the top bar so it can be used for cost. Using a card as cost will activate it's Mana Leak, adding to the battle in some way.
I love the art and animations!!! Could only fit part of the screen on my laptop but when i switched to fullscreen it all fit! Love the creativity -using cards to create a bullet hell mini game that was affected by the cards you play was pretty cool! Awesome work! :D
I've made a fix after submissions ended, but I have to wait for the jam to end to upload it.
same here xD i have a bunch of issues in my game that need fixing - just waiting til after the jam is over
its a interesting idea have the cards to create different bullets patterns, took a little while to get how it works but its fun
The game is quite interesting! I liked that the card game is combined with the theme of jam. But I think it's better if you don't imitate undertale and find your own style. The art is quite nice.
More like Daltarune but I understand.
This was really, really creative. A good spin to both bullet hell AND card games. It is quite difficult to play, and the lack of feedback (from getting hit, using cards, etc. ) made it difficult to play. This could 100% be improved upon.
That will definitely be something to look into. There are only 2 sounds in the game right now so I can see where you're coming from.
I think the idea of the card game was nice, but the minigame of bullets, i think we need more info to know what to do, what happens if you dodge all the balls or you hit a lot of them?
I do admit that I spent most of the time working on the battle system and card art (Ruen's Kindness taking the longest at 5 hours total ) rather than polish.
A tutorial was excluded, but I plan on adding one later on.
