I don't think my game will be ready in time. I've only just finished the planning and I still need to actually make the game. Though I do have the basic setup laid out. Are we still able to submit games after the jam just for fun?

Sure, but I suppose just as a regular Itch game - so I guess you won't be competing in the jam if you do happen to submit it late.
