Really nice concept and generally well executed.

I encountered a bug a couple of times where the character would not move out of the doorway after playing the stage. I tried retrying the stage and exiting to the menu and trying again but the only thing that worked was restarting the  web page entirely. No idea what caused this but it happened multiple times. Another bug that i run into once was the arrows wouldn't appear on the ground when pressed and once again i had to restart the game.

A few general gripes: It would be nice to have an undo key for if you misplace an arrow but with the level restart system that would only be a minor improvement. Another thing would be that i really like the style of the tutorial however it didn't in my mind make it clear the aim of the game but after a couple of tries i figured it out anyway so again not a major issue.

Overall really well made game with fun mechanics. Sound design is good and the graphics serve their purpose well. Although not the most fun iv'e had in a puzzle game definitely is a solid submission :D

I greatly appreciate the in-depth critique! We're really interested in revisiting the idea after the jam and improving upon it for potentially a full game, so feedback like this is extremely helpful.

The bug with the character not moving out of the doorway was unfortunately a bug we discovered after release; if the character is currently paused and the restart button is used, we neglected to properly set some of the flags in the character. This causes them to not leave the doorway upon the first time the play button is pressed; however, if the game is subsequently paused and played again, the character will start moving. I'm sorry to hear that you had to restart the webpage entirely, I'm sure that was fairly annoying.

As for the second bug, we never encountered that in our playtesting, so again I'm sorry to hear that you encountered that :(

We tried to address the convenience of re-placing arrows by letting players pick up already placed arrows and move them around; perhaps it stopped working when you played?

Lastly, we did try to design the tutorial to be as hands-off as possible; the first level was intended to provide a safe space for the player to learn what all the UI buttons do, how to place arrows, and also hopefully teach that allowing the character to see a pot is bad, and that the line of sight to a pot can be broken by rocks. We tried similar hands-off approaches to tutorializing the other aspects of the game, such as the level where you're forced to pick up the ladder to cross the one-block-wide gap, thereby teaching the player that that's what the ladder does.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game regardless! Again the feedback is incredibly appreciated, thank you for taking the time to articulate it.

Im more than happy to give feedback especially when you gave me great feedback as well.

I didn't realise you could pick the arrows back up, that made my second play through a lot easier!

As i say the tutorial wasn't a big issue just thought it would be nice to have a few more obvious cues from the get go but obviously thats a personal opinion.

The bugs also didn't bother me much either just thought I'd flag them up.

Once again well done on the great game and i hope you continue to make great stuff in the future!!!

PiFox :D

Thanks PiFox, glad you had a go at our game and super grateful for the feedback as well! Thanks for pointing out the bugs - there was one I only found recently playtesting so anything people come across is helpful for us! I'll be sure to check out your game as well!

Really interesting puzzle game! I really have no complaints, other than the music was a tad bit loud, but I can easily turn down my system volume. Great work!

Best game I tried so far (I tried about 20 games). Music is awesome, clever stages, art is great. I finished the game and I wanted more.  Maybe not the most theme compliant. Anyway, well done guys!

This game is pretty fun and challenging too. The only but for me is that it gets challenging quickly. But nice game keep it up :D
