Do the rules 2 and 8 conflict?

Let's assume the rule 8 partially removes restriction. Can I use assets packs even if they were created before jam started?

And what about for example assets created by me and released on itch as asset packs? It is normal for the rule 8 but falls with 2 rule...

Look, if you're capable of making asset packs(and therefore assets) on your own, you should probably be able to make your own assets in the jam timeframe, otherwise, you can use asset packs. And it's not like we're gonna be looking through your previous projects to check that you *really* didn't use any old assets, it'd just be good if your game's assets weren't entirely stolen from your old games.
