- The stills for this game are absolutely gorgeous and the character art in-game is so charming. The story is super cute and a great fit for the theme in tandem with the gameplay. Of all the "characters tethered together" games the mechanics in this felt the most polished and fun to use. Switching between the brothers was seamless and made an entertaining gameplay loop. I wish the platforms/puzzle elements could have been more cohesive with the environments but still this was an amazing game! --- Love the art, writing is among the best of this jam! The brothers are so memorable, dialogue is just super clean and cute. I do think the throw control feels a bit off (it's very hard to control throw angle). --- 34/40

I really like the mechanics of this game and the art is super stunning! I eventually got stuck cause I’m not the best at games, lol. But overall it was really polished and I’m impressed it was done in one jam! Good work.
thank you so much!
This game is super polished, and I like the way it introduces new mechanics. It is pretty funny being able to throw your brother around. :3 The gameplay was really smooth, and it was nice that I was always able to easily pull the brother back with the rope (even if it didn't conform to physics laws xD).
One critique (may just be bc I'm pretty bad at these types of games) is that I often felt like I had no idea what my goal was, and would just wander around the map hoping to find something.
thank you so much for your kind words! we're glad to hear you liked it. your feedback is also super helpful!
I really like the main rope mechanic! It opens up a lot of fun interactions and felt intuitive to use, especially when you get around to just chucking your brother around. The dialogue also adds some nice charm to the game with the character dynamics, and hints at a greater story too!
I think the controls feel a little wonky at first since it had a weird mix between mouse and keyboard controls, but it made a little more sense to use the mouse once you got to the throwing sections. Overall, very fun and would love to see a version with full art and everything!
thanks so much for your kind words and feedback!
thanks for taking the time to play our game tariq! appreciate your kind words and suggestions.
Oh my goodness! This is such an adorable game, I love the art so, so much! Everything is extremely clean and polished and the mechanics are incredibly fun and clever! I adore that you can toggle between the character and the personalities of both Arlo and Oswald are so memorable! Everything was so well put together that I can't believe it was done in a single game jam! :3
P.S. I'm so bad at games. . . I couldn't get past the tutorial where you learn to throw while jumping LOL. Any hints? :3
loved to hear your input snoqie, it means a lot! (and lol I am also bad at games, I can't say I've beaten the game myself yet haha)
I really like it! The dialogue is super nice, and the beginning and ending cutscenes are beautiful! I think of all the games I've played in this jam about two platforming characters being connected by a rope, this one is my favorite. Being able to throw one character and pull with the other is such a fun mechanic for climbing. And the rope worked well to tie them together - which isn't easy to code!
The aesthetics/concept gave me over the garden wall vibes. Two brothers whisked away into a strange land. I really liked the parallaxing structures - it created such a mysterious vibe.
Fantastic!
The end credits scene? Adorable.
we're glad you liked it, thanks for your kind words! over the garden wall was definitely an inspo for this game, it's cool the game reminded you of it!
Wow this is really really impressive! Great story and characters and super cool mechanics! Love it
thanks! loved to see your take on a similar mechanic, you guys did an awesome job as well!
I love this game, in a way is a much more professional version of what I was going for, the story and visuals are great. i got to the second yellow box however, and wasn't able to trigger the next scene? I think its cuz i threw the child and skipped something
Are you touching the box with both characters at the same time? I realize that it wasn't explained in the game so it might be confusing
I loved the art style, especially the character designs. One visual improvement I would make is on the rope system, a lot of times when it wasn't taut it would do weird things that were pretty funny, but also pretty weird.
thanks nick! we appreciate your input!
i hate arlo like i hate baby yoda
